    SCCM Upgrade

    Damo
    By Damo,
I am in the process of upgrading our SCCM infrastructure from Svr2008R2 and SQL2008R2 to 2012R2 so I can upgrade to current branch.  We are doing in-place upgrades, to 2012R2 on our Primary Site and also our separate DB server.  Our DBA is going to start by upgrading our SQL version to 2014 on the box and they have asked the question where do these facets attached to the database come from and how are they generated, as the DBA plans on detaching backing up and re attaching the DB, they said the

    Known "Unknown" computer during OSD

    xeronine
    By xeronine,
Hi All,  Recently we started experiencing issues with our OSD process creating an "Unknown" computer object with the PC's MAC address as soon as the first "Next" button is clicked at the Welcome to the Task Sequence Wizard screen causing the built to present the "There are not task sequences available for this computer" error. We advertise our task sequences ONLY to the x86/x64 unknown computer objects, so as soon as this object is created in the database the TS availability fails. We are r

Supported .NET Framework for ConfigMgr (CB) site servers

    Ariendg
    By Ariendg,
Since I cannot find any discussion about this I decided to start this new topic. Is .NET Framework 4.6 (and 4.7) supported on ConfigMgr site servers? When doing automated upgrades to stay current, the .NET Framework 4.6 will be installed eventually when you're also using Feature Packs Update Classification. Take a look at KB3102467 for example. Reading documentation it looks like .NET Framework 4.5.2 is the only version supported. No "(or later)" to be found here . I think I know t

How to clear Software Updates list

    LiamC
    By LiamC,
Hi I have run a software updates sync with the Windows 7/10 products ticked under the component properties but I had a few other things ticked as well that i wasn't aware of which means I now have a large list of updates to filter through. I haven't downloaded any of them but I would just like to clear the list and run a new full sync with just Windows 10 selected. When i tried this it still had all the other updates from the previous sync containing windows 7 etc. Is there a way to start t

Error Applying UEFI image to Dell laptop

    krdell
    By krdell,
I am attempting to apply a UEFI Win10 image using USB boot media with x64 boot image.  I have set the BIOS to the following: -Disable legacy options ROMs -Boot list option is set to UEFI under boot sequence -Secure boot is enabled In other words, all legacy boot options have been disabled and set to UEFI.  I have attached an image of my task sequence, specifically the partitioning step where I think I may be having the problem.  The task sequences fails just after the apply i

PXE restarts at "Preparing network connections"

    Robhar
    By Robhar,
Hello everyone, I'm currently trying to learn about SCCM and deploying Windows 10 using PXE and MDT, however my clients never seem to get to the task sequence part, instead they just reboot when it says "Preparing network connections". I am able to stop the reboot by pressing F8 and it shows I have an ip, disk looks good using diskpart, can ping sccm fqdn and I'm able to use net use to map a share. I have crawled every possible forum and posts and nothing seems to help, and I really fe

    OSD Upgrade Pre-Cache

    MikeA
    By MikeA,
Hi all, I see the pre-cache feature for an OS upgrade Task Sequence was implemented as pre-release in CB 1611 and is still in pre-release in CB 1706. Do you know if this will become a released feature some time soon? Has anyone used it successfully, even though it's in pre-release? Thanks!
