Windows as a service: Simplified and Aligned
By anyweb,
Microsoft has changed Windows As A Service and this was explained in a blog post by Michael Niehaus.
As we announced back in April, Microsoft is aligning our servicing models with twice-per-year feature update releases targeting March and September, and 18-month servicing timelines for each release. While the first fully-aligned release will occur later this year with the Windows 10 Fall Creators Update release and a corresponding Office 365 ProPlus release, we got a head start with the Wi

Handling Environment Variables through SCCM
By mgr,
We have a scenario in our organisation where we want to map a huge lot of environment variables for specific machines. Each and every variables are unique to each machine. There are around 6000 variables which needs to be mapped to 6000 machines. Is there any way we can handle it through SCCM ?
boot.sdi won't load
By xerxes2985,
I am attempting to image a VM by PXE through VSphere. I can successfully PXE boot, but during the "loading files: boot.sdi" it is extremely slow. Then when it attempts to load the WIM, it just sits there.
Any thoughts?
SQL Tip/Hint
By simulacra75,
Just a tip or something to be aware of. One of my admins pointed out they were running low on disk space on the drive where the SQL server was installed. Turns out that by default the ReportServer DB log file is set to grow to 2TB by default! Went into SSMS and changed the ReportServer DB to "simple" and then ran the "shrink" command on the log file of that DB. File went from 500+GB to 6MB. Changed to the maximum file size afterwards too so it doesn't happen again. Thought some of you might find
.net 4.6.2 deployment fails as part of OSD
By mrbios,
Hi,
I've followed this guide: https://www.andersrodland.com/deploy-net-framework-4-6-2-with-sccm/ to deploy the .net framework as an SCCM application, it works perfectly when i deploy it to machines outside of an OSD TS, but when deployed as part of a TS it appears to get stuck for ages, then does a forced restart (no countdown, just cuts off the TS process) then loads up into windows without continuing the rest of the image.
Anyone have any suggestions on a solution for this?
SCCM 2016 Project Design
By EgyptianBeans,
Hello Windows-noob,
I've been tasked to build, configure, and implement SCCM in our environment. I've been watching (and reading) LOTS of tutorials on SCCM installation and dependencies. However, I can't find much resources on the different design/architectures for SCCM. I hear Windows-noob is the go-to place for SCCM. So here goes..
Here's an overview of our organization:
Our organization is 300 Employees large and we have two data centers (different geographical location), with
Change IP address of MP
By Kevin79,
I have a site that has 2 buildings. Each building is on a different IP range. We are moving the servers from one building to the other so the IP addresses need to change. What do I need to do to change the IP address of a management point? Does everything in SCCM use the DNS name?
