Microsoft releases new Windows XP security patches, warns of state-sponsored cyberattacks

    anyweb
    By anyweb,
Microsoft issued a “highly unusual” patch for Windows XP last month to help prevent the spread of the massive WannaCry malware. At least 75,000 computers in 99 countries were affected by the malware which encrypts a computer and demands a $300 ransom before unlocking it. Microsoft stopped supporting Windows XP in April 2014, but the software giant is now taking the unprecedented move of including it in the company’s Patch Tuesday round of security updates today. “In reviewing the u

    SCCM Client issues

    ajmalloy
    By ajmalloy,
Hello everyone, I am having a new issue on an existing SCCM implementation where the client does not install correctly. It looks like what most people have termed 'stuck in provisioning mode'. The version is correct in control panel but it shows "none" for valid certificate. This would obviously cause communication issues because we allow only SSL encryption. We do deploy our own certificate via Group Policy and I believe that is working correctly and installing om the clients. I have

    reinos
    By reinos,
Hi i've a CAS and two primary sites. All updated to 1511 Now i tried to install 1602 using "Updates and Servicing" but this stuck while "run prerequisite checker" without any log entries. Restart server or sms_executive did not change anything. After this i found a Technet article how to edit the CAS-database and remove the 1602 update entry. Did this and after this 1602 was not showing in "Updates and Servicing" anymmore. Then i copied the 1602-source files from the EasySetu

Windows 10 servicing - scan for incompatible apps

    simulacra75
    By simulacra75,
Whilst testing the 1703  servicing update for Windows 10 i've noticed that in the pre-install stages there is a "scan" carried out by the update process on the client machine to try and detect incompatible applications and a hard stop occurs if an incompatible application is found. This is good, in the sense that it will try and leave a machine in full working order, post-install. The gripe that i have with it though is that the update process needs to be triggered in the first place to find out

    Importing Customized Start Menu

    xerxes2985
    By xerxes2985,
Good Morning, Following the instructions here, I've attempted to replicate this same process with installing Windows 10 1607 LTSB. It does not apply the custom menu I exported.  The log file contain any notice of failures for the package applying. I am using the copyprofile method (that I created my reference image using), is this causing issues?

    Tanooki60
    By Tanooki60,
Hello, We currently have a 2 way trust established with another domain (Domain B). I have everything configured within SCCM environment for our Primary site to manage these machines. The second domain's machines are all  currently properly configured to be managed by our SCCM environment. However, I'm trying to create an OSD for Domain B. When I attempt to change the Apply Network Settings task to add the machine to Domain B, the our Domain listed is the primary domain (Domain A). Is there
