Task Sequence Script to place devices in OU depending on name
By shadycat,
Is it possible to query an IdentifyingNumber during a task sequence and use the result to place it in a particular OU in Active directory?
To return the asset tag i use the following query.
wmic:root\cli>csproduct get identifyingnumber
IdentifyingNumber
GXS045J
How can i use the result to place the machine in a particular OU in AD?
Is this possible?
If it is how are people achieving this?
Many Thanks in advance.

Uninstall dependencies, how?!
By PHGustavsson,
SCCM 1610 with all hotfixes.
Windows 10 Enterprise 1607.
I have an application that have two dependencies. It's setup so that both dependencies are installed before the application itself. Both of them are .msi files and both are recognized by SCCM with MSI Product Codes. The installation part is working fine.
But they are not uninstalled if I uninstall the main application (using the old control panel and/or Win 10 Settings / Apps).
The uninstall button is greyed out in Software
(1610) Clients showing up as compliant but patches aren't installed
By shsysadm,
Many of my clients are showing compliant status when I'm trying to deploy Windows updates, both for Win 10 1607 and 1511 clients.
Attempting to deploy KB4013429 it appears to be compliant on the machines but if I manually go to "check for windows updates" the very same patch starts downloading from microsoft.
At first the machines present me with:
Failed to attach update to the automation wrapper, error = 0x87d00215 UpdatesDeploymentAgent 3/18/2017 12:57:22 PM 2440 (0x098
The script to create device collections based on AD OUs
By Maestro,
Hello everyone!
Some years ago I was looking for a script to create collections in SCCM based on AD OUs. I've found some of them, but they seemed a bit complex and incomprehensible to me.
So I've wrote my own rather simple script, added a few options that I think would be in hand for SCCM admin and added a lot of comments to make the script easy to understand and modify.
So I present it to your judge. Any comments and suggestions are appreciated.

SCCM 2016 install Prerequisite Failure
By jmhill,
Hi,
I am installing SCCM 2016 as a standalone server (Windows Server 2016), with the SQL database hosted on a different server (Windows Server 2012R2, SQL 2016). I know this is not the recommended setup, but currently it is our only option. The SQL server also hosts various things as SharePoint/Project, Jira/Fisheye, EventSentry, App-V 5 etc.
I've gotten past all the other prerequisites except "SQL Server Tcp Port - Configuration Manager primary site and central administration site req

Running SCCM 16xx in the cloud?
By Vini,
I currently administer a single, on-premise, MP with ~60 local DPs spread globally. We have around 7500 devices and 4000 users.
At present the MP, SQL and foundations all live in the UK, and this is causing a bit of grief for our APAC sites, when pulling down TS policies for OSD etc...
We're needing/wanting to spin up a 16xx instance of SCCM anyway, but have been wondering if/how feasible a Cloud Based MP and feature rich site system server would be if based in Azure for example.
