Windows 10 to get 'holographic' headset and Cortana, and free upgrade for Windows 7, 8 users for the first year

Microsoft has revealed that Windows 10 will bring its voice-controlled assistant Cortana to PCs.
It also unveiled a headset that it said would one day project the operating system over views of the real world. In addition, the firm announced that the OS upgrade would be offered free of charge for devices running Windows 8, Windows 7 and Windows Phone. The offer, which is limited to the Windows 10's first year of release, may aid its adoption. It marks a change in strategy from Microsoft

Windows 7 and 8.1 PCs will get direct upgrade to Windows 10

Microsoft's head of Windows Insider program, Gabriel Aul, has confirmed that Windows 10 will require a fresh install on Windows devices older than Windows 7.
Revealed in a reply from his Twitter account, Aul wrote that there won't be any full upgrade paths as these will be solely available for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users.

New build of Windows 10 available - build 9879

Microsoft has released a new build of Windows 10 to the insiders, you can get it by updating Windows 10 by clicking on the Start menu and type Windows Update Settings which will bring up the below
when Windows Update Settings opens up, click the Windows Update back arrow as shown above,
then select Preview Builds
change from Slow to Fast to get builds quicker than normal if you don't mind more bugs
then click on Check Now followed by Download Now
and off i
