  1. Hi, I would reuse the drivers, packages and scripts and create a new MDT Task Sequence in SCCM, there is really no way of importing it if you want to leverage the full Power of Configuration Manager. Install MDT on the CAS, Primary site servers and on all clients/servers that are running the console as well otherwise they will not be able to edit the MDT Task Sequence. Copy the drivers to SCCM and import them in SCCM instead. Regards, Jörgen
  2. Hi, The correct WSUS GPO settings would to "Disable automatic updates", for the updates missing from SCCM, make sure you have selected all the classifications, and Products. many updates for example for Visual Studion Runtime are not in the Server 2008r2 category but in the "Developer Tools, Runtimes and redistributables" So it could be many reasons Why not all the updates show up. Regards, Jörgen
  3. Hi, For the Network access account you should add domain\username. If you install the client manually using ccmsetup, have you extended the Active directory and made sure that the client can publish it's site information under System\System management? If you run it from the server = Client Push, you must have configured a client push account or granted local admin permissions on the client, you can check the Ccm.log on the server for client push errors. The pre reqs are listed here. http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb680537.aspx Regards, Jörgen
  4. Hi, You can use a script like this to install the definition updates together with the endpoint Protection client so there is no wait. Regards, Jörgen
  5. Hi, Are you running the task seqeunce with "Access this content directly from DP" in that case it coould be related to BITS as the applications are Always dowloaded using BITS.. Regards, Jörgen
  6. Hi, It is all explained here http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg712295.aspx Regards, Jörgen
  7. Hi, In the "User Experience" tab on the application have you selected "Only when a user is logged on" and after that "Allow users to view and interact with the program installation" Then it should be visible for the user. Regards, Jörgen
  8. Hi, No there is no need to change to a IP Subnet boundary, IP Address range is my prefered solution. If you are using "Access the content directly" it could be that BITS isn't installed and not working on the DP in question as Applications always is downloaded using BITS and never accessed using SMB. Regards, Jörgen
  9. Hi, I do not really follow you, you have a deployment that works fine but you cannot run it as a required deployment? Is this one package or a dependecy chain? Regards, JÖrgen
  10. Hi, You can set the application as a dependency to the other, then it will be launched Before the installation of your application runs. So the application you want to run last is the one you deploy and then it will install the first one automatically. There is no pre/post commands availble.. Regards, Jörgen
  11. Hi, You should be able to delete a directory as well. http://blog.danovich.com.au/2013/06/07/sccm-2012-run-action-after-task-sequence-is-finished/ Regards, Jörgen
  12. Hi, To make a very long answer short a Hyper-V replica is the only way to get real high availablity. The problem is the site server itself as you cannot have more than one and even if you have two SMS providers you cannor connect the console to a SMS provider if the Site Server is down. Regard, Jörgen
  13. Hi, No it should not cause any issues, the clients will download and install the updates it needs. Regards, Jörgen
  14. Hi, I normally use something like this to tatoo the registry during OSD, http://ccmexec.com/2012/08/script-to-tattoo-the-client-registry-during-osd/. If you are using MDT there is also a builitn step in MDT that tattoos the registry, http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/cnackers/archive/2009/12/04/microsoft-deployment-toolkit-tattoo-information.aspx Regards, Jörgen
  15. Hi, Are you installing anything after the script runs in the task sequence? You can also add Another pass with the script to see if it finds the last missing updates. Regards, Jörgen
  16. Hi, "Condition is that I should not create any new collection for rest of 10 Machines." why would that be? It is the way SCCM works.. Regards, Jörgen
  17. Hi, I assume you deployed the CU2 client update using the package/program that the Hotifx instalaltion creates. Create a Collection of the computers not having the CU2 update installed and deploy the package again to those computers. Here is how you can create that Query, just change the client version. http://www.scconfigmgr.com/2013/04/02/upgrade-configmgr-2012-sp1-clients-with-the-cu1-update/ regards, Jörgen
  18. Hi, have you created your own .MSP file? using the Setup /admin option? and that doesn't work? Regards, Jörgen
  19. Hi, I always only use on package, the clients will only download and install the updates they need anyway and not the whole update package. it is also hard to slip the updates, for the OS it is easy but for Visual Studio Runtime for instance you need in many cases both the x86 and the x64 on X64 computers as they run x86 applications as well. Regards, Jörgen
  20. Hi, MDT adds additional features for instance, it sets task Sequence variables that you can use to for instance difer between laptops and desktops with the variables ISLAPTOP,ISDESKTOP and so on. You can also use defualt gateway settings in the Customsettings.ini to deploy different setttings, applications e.t.c per location. You can also use the MDT database and use Roles to assign computernames, application OU location and much much more. So basically it takes your OS deployment to the next level. regards, Jörgen
  21. Hi, There are some great guides available on this site: http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?/topic/1064-sccm-2007-guides/ But as I wrote Before above it is not supported to co a build and Capture of a Server 2012 image using SCCM 2007.. Regards, Jörgen
  22. Hi, 1.You need to install the hotfixes required for WSUS 3.0 sp2 to be able to download Windows 8/Server 2012 updates. It is described here: http://systemscentre.blogspot.se/2012/09/preparing-wsus-for-windows-8-and-server.html KB2734608 and 2720211. After that you should run the Synchronise software updates from the SCCM admin console., then Windows 8 and Server 2012 should be avalable as Products. You also need to apply a hotfix to SCCM 2007 to support Windows / Server 2012 if you haven't done it already, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2750782 2. You can see that under Site Management, Sitename, Site Settings, Site Systems and see which sevrer has the Software Update Point role. 3. It is not supported do deploy Windows8/server 2012 using SCCM 2007.. Regrads, Jörgen
  23. Hi, What event are you trying to use to wake the computers? only mandatory assignments with a deadline will wake the computer. Unicast which uses Magic Paket on UDP 9 basically only works when you test it. The ARP cache are cleared after 2 hours in most Switch/router vendors so after that the package cannot find it's way to the client. You should use Subnet Directed Broadcast that is the most reliable way to Wake the computer, however using that you will have to configure your Switches/routers to allow Subnet Directed broadcasts from the SCCM Primary Site Server. You can check the WOLmgr.log file on the server to see if it tries to Wake the machine when the mandatory assignement is scheduled to run. Regards, Jörgen
  24. Hi, You can use ZTIWindowsUpdate.wsf from the MDT toolkit to deploy updates from WSUS during OSD, Chris Nackers has a great post of how to do it here: http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/cnackers/archive/2011/04/28/using-ztiwindowsupdate-wsf-to-install-updates-in-a-system-center-configuration-manager-task-sequence.aspx Regards,Jörgen
  25. Hi, You Control that with Protected Distribution Points, so if the content is available locally it will not download it from any of the protected DPs either. Regards, Jörgen
