  1. Hi, You explained it very well, the answer is no, you need a separate WSUS if you woule like to deploy Updates from WSUS to clients not in SCCM. You should not use the same WSUS server for anything else than SCCM as you will get unexpected behaviour from where updates are deployed and so on. Regards, Jörgen
  2. Hi, If the SCCM client is installed and working as it should the client will register with the SCCM MP again and it will show up in the console again after the next heertbeat at the latest. If the Sytem discovery isn't re-creating the object it most likely means that it is not registered correctly in DNS or not turned on. If you initiate a Heartbeat discvoery on the client in question does it show up then? /Jörgen
  3. Hi, Check out this script from Trevor on the topic, it will clean it up for you http://trevorsullivan.net/2011/11/29/configmgr-cleanup-software-updates-objects/ /jörgen
  4. Hi, It sounds like it could be a firewall issue or somethng like that, anything entered in the CCM.log file on the Primary Site Server? /Jörgen
  5. And not suppressed when the OS Deployment Task Sequence is deployed as available.
  6. Hi, That i correct the console can only be used to connect to a primary site or a CAS, a secondary site only holds a subset of the data a Primary site does. It sounds like you are better of moving the DP from the Primary site server to start with from the Primary site or is that already the case? Regards, Jörgen
  7. Hi, I like to use PNPUtil which basically does the same, preloads the driver cache with the driver and imports the .inf file you select. https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/hardware/ff550428(v=vs.85).aspx Regards, jörgen
  8. Hi, No they are not removed when you remove the boundary, you can create a query with all the comptuers in the AD site and then delete all clients found. note that you should check that the AD site isn't used by any other computers, perhaps a laptop or client connecting using VPN could also have the site perhaps Regards, Jörgen
  9. What operating System are you deplying? the KB is different for Windows 7 and WIndows 8 for instance.? Regards, Jörgen
  10. Hi, Have you configured a group policy setting to disable Automatic Updates? Like Jason describes here: it can cause unexpected reboots. http://blogs.catapultsystems.com/jsandys/archive/2010/05/28/software-updates-management-and-group-policy-for-configmgr-cont-.aspx Regards, Jörgen
  11. Hi, I normally use file version and Iexplore.exe, what is not working with that? Regards, Jörgen
  12. Hi, Yes you can remove the screens in the UDI Wizard editor, just remember that any variables set by pages you remove you must set by yourself in the TS. The TimeZone and Language e.t.c is read from an .xml file so it is not that easy to solve. The domain join user and password can also be set as TS variables as described here: http://kb.matthewtrotter.com/?p=84 Regards, Jörgen
  13. Hi, I use that script as well, but you should the CollectionID and not the collectionname in the command line, cscript AddMeToCollection.vbs <SiteServerName> <CollectionID> %_SMSTSClientIdentity% also make sure either the Network access account or if you run it as a "Run command line step using another user account" that the accounts used have the correct permissions as well. But changing the command line shoudl solve it. Regards, Jörgen
  14. Hi, MDT adds UDI possibilities to SCCM, User Driven Installation, here are some tutorials on how to use it. http://blogs.technet.com/b/chrad/archive/2012/07/26/learning-mdt-2012-s-user-driven-installation-udi.aspx Regards, Jörgen
  15. Hi, It is a known issue that the Windows Update step, when installing Software Updates that requires Multiple reboots are installed, the SCCM client cannot handle that and ends up in Provisioning Mode, http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2894518 If those updates are not in there I would check for any other unexpected reboots either by a script or application to start with. Regards, Jörgen
  16. Hi, Best practice is to have UAC enabled! if you turn of UAC you also turn of Protected mode in Internet Explorer on that machine.. So best practice is without a doubt to have it enabled. Regards, Jörgen
