RIS Server Deployment Image error
Althol81 replied to StagingTech's question in Remote Installation Services (RIS)
Hello, This typically happen when your Win PE bootimage does not contain the appropriate network drivers to start the deployment. You have to add the correct networkdrivers to WinPE first. -
How about SATA-drivers? Which OS is SCCM running on?

SCCM sudden problems with boot images

It seems like your are missing sata drivers for your client. Try switching to compatible/IDE mode for the harddisk in BIOS, and reimage. If everything works this time then its definately SATA driver issue. For the WDS service, try stopping and restart the service. If no success, reboot server. -
I am not quite sure but I think sysprep also will remove visual settings and give you a standard setup. At least for example the Aero feature will need the Experience Index to be run after deployment even If you enable it in your reference image.

Yes, I have looked around a bit for Dual PXE but found that it will be quite annoyning for the thin client users to have to select pxe server each time they boot up. Mac adress filtering might be an option.

Most certainly interesting, Sir! Clearly not "best practise" but will check it out. How about not activating unknown computer support i SCCM? That way maybe Wyse Streaming Manager will grab the request. Wyse Streaming Manager also needs MAC-adresses to be "imported" prior to booting into PXE. If I then import the computer into SCCM and not in Wyse, then SCCM will grab it instead of Wyse. Actually, maybe the whole thing is solved by not activating "unknown computer support" in SCCM. Things to do check out in the lab! Andreas

Hi everyone, Scenario: a SCCM solution an a Wyse Streaming Manager solution coexisting on the same subnet. Problem is that both these soulution is using PXE. Wyse Streaming Manager is a system for streaming OS to Wyse thin clients. And in my case this have to coexist on the same subnet where I want to deploy OS and software to thick clients (laptops and desktops) Is there a solution for making this sceanrio work? As you can see my laptops need to get their PXE to boot into SCCM and the thin clients to boot into the Wyse Streaming manager. There's a headache for ya! At least for me.. :-) Andreas

Did you remember to tick "Quick format" for the second disk in the task sequence? Just checking :-)
