Hi All, Earlier this year I inherited the role of primary SCCM admin for my company, but it wasn't until recently when I stumbled across these forums and the SCCM guides here that I really started to understand how to use the software to send out Windows Updates. I now feel a lot more comfortable with this task, but still trying to figure out all the ins-and-outs. Right now I am a bit confused on the timing of when updates get pushed out / installed on clients after I create a deployment. As an example, let's say I want to send out a few Microsoft updates to several clients. I don't want / need all the clients to get the updates immediately, but I would like them to all be updated in 5 days (for the sake of this example). What's the best way to do this? From my testing so far, it seems like if I set any type of deadline the clients don't start updating until the deadline is reached, but when it is reached they all update at that time. What happens if I don't set a deadline? Seems to me this is telling the client it doesn't have to get these updates. Neither of these scenarios is really what I am looking for. If I push out these updates to 100 clients, make the deployment available immediately, and set a 5 day deadline ideally I would like the updating to be spread out over time, but to make sure that when the 5 days is up all my clients are updated. Is this possible? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, John
