  1. Yes sir, the problem is that you cant boot UEFI unless you are using FAT32 on the USB stick, that is indeed a problem. But what you could do is to create a BOOT USB stick , just for booting and then connect to your CM server and install everything that works fine! So Format usb->FAT32 put the boot files on there and go! good luck.
  2. Try making a new client package from definition and use that instead in the capture process. Ive had this problem before and there was something wrong with the package, you could try to re-destribute the package to the DP. I would try to create a new one tho from definition.
  3. i would say you need to install a DP on that site. You only need a SUp on your primary site , or maybe you want to be able to handle the SUP on the branch office to? that wont make the administration optimal. Dist-point on the branch office PXE enable the DP if you want to be able to boot on the network Send all the packages needed for OS installation to that DP send out the SUP packages you want the clients to install to that DP If you think the SUp packages are to big install the SUP roll on the DP and download the updates there. Just a thought.
  4. You need to have a operating system on that NAS if you want to be able to install any DPs on it im afraid. You could connect that storage to a server and point to store the files on that share should work.
  5. ahhhhh there they are totally missed that thank you! will try them and se how far i get
  6. Hello folks! I have read the topics about how to install the linux client on technet here (http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/jj573943.aspx) What i cant figure out is where do i find the actual files for the linux client? its not under the default client folder and i have looked around but cant find anything. Any ideas anyone?
  7. I would check that the SCCM system really has the rights it needs on the System Management Container in Active Directory.
  8. Then you will need to have different VLANs , you cant use them both on the same network because then you will get a random reply on one of the PXE servers, the client will go to the PXE server that responds the fastest. So setup the CM 2012, and the clients connect to the server via a spec VLAN id.
  9. Hi folks! My question is kind of straight forward. Where does the execution history for applications go in CM 2012 in the WMI namespace? For example the execution history for packages can be found here ,"Root\CCM\SoftMgmtAgent namespace" The same question goes for user applications, is it the same? Is it the same for applications? i cant seem to find it. //11
  10. internsting news!
  11. You can see more here also http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg682077.aspx#BKMK_SupConfigSiteSystemReq
  12. I would say 16-24 GB RAM (8 is not enough for 5k users) 4 CPUs For data atleast 500GB SQL on the same box or not?
  13. You are extracting the cab before importing right?
  14. Se step 4. http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?/topic/6106-using-system-center-2012-configuration-manager-part-6-adding-the-endpoint-protection-role-configure-alerts-and-custom-antimalware-policies/
  15. Hi! Just make the deployment available to all "unknown computers" collection
  16. What does the distmgr logfile say?
  17. The problem i think is that you need to add the SATA drivers to your WINPE img here for that model, That is why you got it to work when you are using "compatability mode" in bios instead of AHCI.
  18. In this case the task sequance fails duing the "Install Operating System" not during apply device drivers. So i would start at looking why that part fails. Looks to me that you need to add the SATA Drivers for your new model into your winPE image.
  19. Where in the task sequance are you trying to deploy the package? before or after the installation of the cm client?
  20. Check your boundaries. The client as you can se does not have access to the MP. Or it cannot find it. I would check boundaries.
  21. LIke Rocket said, just deploy the Task Sequence to the collection you want. If you for example have two Task Sequances you want to use Windows 7 Deployment Windows Server 2008 R2 Deploy both to the same collection and you will be able to chose when you boot the client.
  22. Could you post the logfile? and where in the TS are youtrying to install the application? could you provide a screenshot of your ts?
  23. Hello! If you create a Collection and add all those computers. Then you create a mandatory advertisment for all the computers viola, zero touch If the computers are turned off ect you will need to use WAKE ON LAN , and you also need to specifiy the time you want the deployment to happend ect.
