Hello, i am running sccm 1710 on windows 2016. My wsus with the system role for software update is also running on windows 2016. Under site settings for Software Update i activated the checkbox "include microsoft surface drivers...." and under products i select (see the screenshot) My Surfaces are running 1709 (fall creators update) at the moment. Now, when i take a look under "All software updates" and search for "surface" i only see one firmware update: But these updates are old. If i take a look on the MS Download Page, i found an MSI Driver Package from August, 10th. 2018. And all other updates are from 2017. Why are these updates not visible in my console ? I cant believe, that there are no newer updates for wsus available... Any idea ?

Hi, i know, software inventory is not a good solution, but what is an alternative to collect a specific file with its version?

Hello, i have a new SCCM Current Branch installation and at the moment, i am testing the osd deployment. I have one client, which i imported manually via mac address. The deployment works well. But after some time i have two "devices" with the same name, but different GUID's in my database. If i want to redeploy my client, i cannot find any task sequence. Thats right, because the new device is not member if the device collection, where the task sequence is deployed to. And the new device must be approved. As discovery methods, i have only heartbeat enabled at the moment. I thought, it was a problem with the ad system discovery, but after disabling it, i still got a new device. Any ideas?

Hello, i am a beginner with scom 2012. I installed it, i import some management packs, but i don't see or found, what i want. For example, i have a hyper-v 2012 server with some vms running on it. So i imported the hyper-v 2012 management pack with his dependencies like the default windows 2012 management packs. I installed the scom agent on the hyper-v host and activate the proxy mode on that agent. I see my hyper-v server in the scom console. But if i click on a vm i have no performance data (graphs) for this vm. I only want some basic performance counters like cpu performance or ram usage of the vms. Not for the hole hyper-v host. Only for the individually vms. Please, can someone explain me how i can solve this problem. I don't want to install an agent in every vm. And, can someone tell me, where i can find some nice howtos for scom, like here on this page for sccm? I think scom is a great product, but at the moment, it is a book with seven seals for me Thanks for your help.

Hello, i have a sccm 2012 installation and discover my hole ad and my network. And now, i have hundreds of old computer objects. Has someone an idea, how i could clean up automatically those old systemes?

WinInstall LE. It captures the installations and later, you could build a msi file with that program

It is a xenserver vm. I see, in a vmware environment. all works well. Ok i think it is a xenserver problem. thanks.

Hello, i have a virtual vm for testing osd. I imported that machine into my sccm database with his mac address. Then i could run my task sequence. It was a workgroup task sequence. The machine doesn't join a active directory domain. then i reboot my vm and run boot up my osd startup media for deploying task sequences. and now, i get the answer that there are no task sequences available. The mac is the same as yesterday, as i could deploy my os. if i create a new machine in that collection, i could deploy my os. And after the os is deployed and i reboot the vm i can't run that task sequence again. the task sequence has the modus "available". Is there any problem with guids?

Hi, i installed my sccm 2012. Configured MY DP for PXE usage. Configured my dhcp. OS deployment works well. I could install my clients over lan. But after my client is installed and it reboots, it hangs at the stage where someone could Press F12 to boot from network. But nobody would now boot from network, rather boot from harddisk. In my opinion, the press F12 message should be displayed for some seconds and then, the client should boot from his next device. But this doesnt happen. Only if i change my boot order, so that my client boot first from his harddisk, than it works. Has someone any ideas why this is, or any ideas where i can take a look ?

Hello, i captured a fresh windows 2008 r2 sp1 server with my sccm 2012. Create a dnsserver.xml file with this code <?xml version="1.0" encoding="utf-8"?> <unattend xmlns="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:unattend"> <servicing> <package action="configure"> <assemblyIdentity name="Microsoft-Windows-Foundation-Package" version="6.1.7601.17514" processorArchitecture="amd64" publicKeyToken="31bf3856ad364e35" language="" /> <selection name="DNS-Server-Full-Role" state="true" /> <selection name="DNS-Server-Tools" state="true" /> </package> </servicing> <cpi:offlineImage cpi:source="wim:c:/tmp/install.wim#Windows Server 2008 R2 SERVERSTANDARD" xmlns:cpi="urn:schemas-microsoft-com:cpi" /> </unattend> Create a package and deploy that package to my dp. then in my task sequence i choose that package and as filename i type in dnsserver.xml. Then i boot up my vm and install the new server with that task sequence. The OSD works well, but my DNS Server role is not installed. Is this with my unattended.xml file right? Or do i something wrong?

Hi, i test sccm 2007 r2 with windows embedded device manager to manage my windows thin clients. for the first test, i installed a blank virtual machine with windows embedded 7 standard. i disable manually with ewfmgr c: -disable the write filter and then join the vm to the domain, install the sccm client, so that he could register at the sccm server. then, i enabled the write filter and reboot the system. no i have a little own virtual thin client for testing. i distribute a foxit reader to my distribution point and test to deploy it with a normal advertisement to my thinclient. this works well. ok but after a reboot, the foxit is gone away, but thats aspected. no i create a tasksequence with writefilter handling, choose my uninstalled packet and checked all. then after few minutes, my thinclient recognized the new package. but nothing happens. the write filter is enabled. the thinclient doesn't restart. the package doesn't install. and last but not least, i doesn't get any errors. Any ideas, why this doesn't work? Or where i can take a look to find more informations ? I have on c:\ no TSSMS directory or any other sccm folders. Kind regards Stefan

Hi, is it possible to deploy a new os without booting from pxe or cd image? Why i ask, is, that i don't want to set the boot order still the hole pc lifetime on pxe first boot priority. And i don't want to change the boot order every time i deploy a new os. So is there a change to boot from the installed windows os directly in the bootpe environment to deploy the new image to the computer ? What is your best practise for the os deployment? Kind regards
