  1. well as no one had any answers just lots of views, we opened a case with MS, turns out after removing and re-adding the roles iis had not removed the sites properly so after adding the roles again it iis was still trying to look at the original default site not the new ones, we had to delete the sites from iis then do the roles again and all seems sweet now.
  2. I'm guessing your looking at the synchronized list and that you have not actually downloaded any of the updates? in sccm go to Administration Expand Site Configuration. Click on Sites select the site you installed the SUP Role and then in the ribbon up top select Configure Site Components choose Software update point go to to Products Tab, and deselect the products you no longer want to sync for updates.
  3. HI, i have gone through the helpful guides on this site for installing and setting up sccm 2012, but something seems to have gone awry. when i add the Application Catalog web service point and website Roles to my site i can see in the logs it fails to install and retries every hour to do the install. from what i can see in the logs I'm getting portlweb.msi failing to install. i have tried removing the rolls from the site rebooted and then reinstall same issue i have removed iis, .net, bits, and rebooted reinstalled and set them up again, re registering .net4 asp for iis, then reinstalling the WSP role to get the same error. any help would be amazing, and am i right in saying that because WSP is not working the client is not pushing updates to the workstations? i get a sync with wsus but cant get the deployed updates to show on the clients, tho i can pxe boot and run osd successfully, the clients can also see applications i deploy to the group such as office. but the clients wont get OS updates or Endpoint updates grr. i have attached logs. portlwebMSI.log SMSPORTALWEBSetup.log
