  1. have yo tried simply just using setup.exe -s as the command line........considering all files are in the one package...then the setup.exe -s command will use the setup.iss by default without having to use any further parameters such as -f1C:\ etc........
  2. OR go to properties of boot.wim and add drivers from here(this will give you a filtered list of all NIC injectable drivers)....just add them all. And do not forget to update DPs with new boot.wims! Rocket Man
  3. This is a good starting point to query specific OUs in AD........can you just not include or exclude the remaining nested collections via the drop down list (the same way you use the query/direct rule) to achieve this?? Rocket Man
  4. I have resulted to copying the shortcuts to the public desktop folder via a batch file, all contained within a package.......It is working good so far.....still not sure as to why the above alert is occurring as these are the steps I used for Office 2010...Cheers..
  5. Anyone any ideas about this? I have tried various different start in locations and when deployed and any of the applications are opened from the desktop shortcut it throws up errors.....
  6. Has anyone successfully managed to succesfully create office2013 via the OCT creating a custom MSP file? At the configure shortcuts section I want to add shortcuts to the desktop folder but also leave them in start program folder(default) ,Access, PP, Word, Excel and SkyDrive Pro......When I go through the process it throws up a strange alert stating that there is an invalid start in folder??? I cannot continue not unless I punch something into this field.. attachment below I have done this without any errors with office 2010 with the same procedures as attempted above....I do not know what seems to be the problems..... According to technet it states that "Enter a path to specify the default starting folder for the application. If you leave this box blank, the default folder is set to the folder where the destination file resides. If the path is not valid on a user's computer, the user sees an error message when the user tries to use the shortcut." http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc179097(v=office.15).aspx#Additional_content If i leave it blank it throws up the alert.....is this already a bug with office 2013 or is there a way to overcome this? Thanks Rocket Man
  7. Are the new laptops a different model of lenovo from the older laptops? If so then inject the NIC driver for this specific model into the boot.wim.
  8. Hi I have not tried this as of yet...but my initial thinking is that there would be no drop down list in deployment settings to access content directly from DP when choosing applications instead of packages as there is no option to distribute the application to a content share(the same as a package to get this option of accessing directly). Will definitely try this when back in office. Is there any way around this when using the APP Catalog, it is just that some applications do have product keys within the application package itself, and if downloaded to the local PC/ccmcache folder...there is nothing stopping users from accidentally finding all of the installation files and product key and redistribute out of work
  9. Hi Anyweb Is there any way that the applications can be run from the DP shares? I am only assuming that if I take all my packages(which I use at present) and create apps out of them and attach them to a TS, they will download to the ccmcache folder before installing? Thanks
  10. No need to do any of this!!
  11. Have you tried fushing out the WDS from PXE adds...just restart the WDS service to do this...by default it will flush out every 120 mins
  12. On the DB itself right click and choose shrink DB....make sure and choose either the .ldf or .mdf.......As far as I remeber it is the report_serverLog.ldf that needs to be shrinked if it has gained too much in size. After you shrink it then you must right click the instance and I think it is options node and choose recovery mode to simple...it will be in full mode at present...after you do this your report server DB will not increase anymore.
  13. Are the apps deployed to users collections or computer collections? They also have to be made available in the deployment settings.
  14. Update: So I have now decided to create an office application following this guide http://blogs.technet...012-beta-2.aspx (it allows you to bypass the msi procedure) Most of my software is executables so I guess I could follow these steps to create applications out of them. I deployed it to a custom user group and all is working as it should, the user requests the App from the catalog and then I approve or deny. The only downfall that I see to this is that it downloads the apps to the ccmcache folder first before installing. Is there a way to distribute the app to the content share on DP and then run from DP like the package can? I have looked at all properties and nothing is standing out, maybe I am missing something?
  15. If the 1st program installs to a local location then all you need to do is deploy that file from a precreated package with the files in it Start /Wait %~dp0setup.exe /parameters The second part then calls those files to install the rest from the local machine (if 1st step has been successful) start /wait "C:\Directory\setup.exe" /parameters Put all together in a package(files + command file or bat file), distribute and deploy to a collection The bat file can now be: Start /Wait %~dp0setup.exe /parameters start /wait "C:\Directory\setup.exe" /parameters You could specify to run from DP or download locally until you get it to work for you!
  16. I have set this on the client manually and can verify it does achieve SSO
  17. Bad idea copying.....if and when PXE is configured on DP, then it should automatically populate the SMSBoot x64 & x86 directories with files needed......If it is not then there may be a connectivty issue You could remove the PXE role again......check WDS after 10-15 mins to see that it is an unconfigured state(yellow exclamation mark on server in the WDS console)....remove the WDS role from server manager.....reboot......delete the REMOTEInstall folder if it still exists (more than likely still does).....Manually add the WDS role from server manager but do not configure when finished......restart the server......then on DP re-enable the DP for PXE........then make sure and check that the Remote Install folder that it has populated with SMSBoot x86 and x64 directories..... On the boot.wims specify to deploy from PXE server also...if you do not do this then the SMSBoot directories will not create!
  18. Hi Thanks for the replies. Firstly let me give you a synopsis of the install of the APP CATALOG. When I configured it and firstly tried to browse to the store it errored with not available or temporarly unavailable.......I had thought this was going to happen as dotNET4.0 was previously installed via windows updates before I even implemented SCCM. So I ran the aspnet_regiis.exe -i command and this then allowed me to browse to the APP CATALOG by using credentials(is this the case, is it supposed to be single sign on??) I also notice that I am unable to define my primary device even though it is set in the Client Agent settings this is the error "This setting cannot be configured because of a network communication error or a configuration problem"(maybe this is also an error caused by having dotNET4.0 installed prior to SCCM implementation?) I will definitely try this, but I have it defined deafult Application Catalog website to internet Explorer trusted sites zone in the same Client setting! Are there any steps to achieving this? I have tried making packaged software packages just available to collections, which does work but not the APP Catalog way... just available in the software center.....I was hoping to get them stored in the APP catalog so that end users could request them? Is this possible with packages? Thanks.
  19. Have installed the application catalog and can connect to the webportal via software center using login credentials(not sure if this is correct, is it supposed to be SSO??). Is there a way of publishing packages to this catalog or is it specifically for Applications? Thanks
  20. Where is your download settings pointing to.....you have to create a shared folder and point the filtered updates to download to this.
  21. You could open ports 2701-2702 at a domain level on the default domain policy or create a new SCCM specific GPO at root level and in here enable your file&print and WMI also(just to be neat)....or if you want to do this on seperate GPOs linked to individual OUs you could but it is more time consuming this way especially if you have a large AD infrastructure. Link to all ports used by ConfigMgr http://technet.micro...y/bb632618.aspx I have set up quite a few sites both LAN and WAN infrastructures and I have seen differences between some sites.......some of them did not require me to open the above ports, the RMC client configuration was suffice,....but other sites required the above ports opened in order for RMC to be successful. I do not know why this is so...but maybe someone with knowledge of this could share this info with us.
  22. Have you individually tried them before trying the larger package? It will sit waiting for an eternity if the software parameters specified in the package do not work....better to get them individually working first and then add them as a larger package
  23. As Kingen has pointed out BITS is very important in SCCM and is needed especially when running content directly from DPs..
  24. Is it possible to get hold of this program........ free download?? EDIT Is your version compatible with x64 architecture? https://supportforum.../thread/2128006
  25. This is the client machine you are talking about? Did you set a local administrator password in the TS if you are not using an answerfile or vbScripts to set local admin accounts? I can assume that it has not joined the domain either?
