  1. Thanks for the reply. I am just about to fly out on holiday so I will look at this when I get back . But thanks for replying
  2. Could you please elaborate some more on this as my task sequence fails on the copy and this is my .bat file if not exist "%1" md "%1" copy %~dp0Fireworks8P.exe "C:\Program Files" /y
  3. Thanks Rocket Man I think I understand it now,I will try that in the morning when I get into work.
  4. I am trying to copy a file on the initial install to C:\Program Files I have followed this guide http://blog.configmgrftw.com/?p=332 but it creates a folder C:/Program doesn't copy the file and the task sequence fails. BTW I placed it at the end of my task sequence. Is this the best way to achieve this? of is there a better way? I don't want the file in my image as it serves for two different sections of my clients.
  5. I have just followed this with great interest and have deployed it as your instructions. However into the installation I get this error and then when I click ok the PC reboots and then I get into a loop with this error I was using the GB version of the preview file.
  6. I think I have found the answer. In Site Configuration / Servers and Site Systems Roles double click Distribution point properties select the PXE tab and in "User Device Affinity" select "Allow user device affinity with automatic approval" Could someone confirm this as I have managed to get one to work yet on a second attempt it asks for a password again.
  7. I have today successfully deployed two task sequences to rebuild PC's one at a set time and one as soon as possible and they both worked. However I have a small problem and no doubt there is a solution but I am unable to find the answer. We have a password on our Task Sequence and when we run the scheduled task sequence it still asks for the password so we have to visit the machine. Is there a way that this can be automated so that I could image machines out of hours? I don't really want to remove the password if this is at all possible.
  8. I think I have found the solution. If you right click on a Task Sequence you get the option to "Distribute Content" Well that seems to have done the trick both my applications have installed once a did this, maybe a schoolboy error in the that maybe you are meant to redistribute content after an upgrade???
  9. Our images were installing great and our task sequences had Office 2010 and google chrome installing. However since deploying SP1 the task sequence finishes after the "Setup Windows and Configuration" part of the task sequence even though I have steps after this i.e install updates, and install applications. I thought it might have been an issue with SP1 but I have since Upgraded to CU3 and still have the problem. I have attached a log file incase I am missing something really important smsts-20131008-174619.log
  10. Thanks I think I have Monday morning syndrom.
  11. I want to add my technician to be able to do limited tasks within SCCM 2012 but I am unable to find a way of doing this. Am I missing something that is staring me in the face
  12. I will give this a try thanks
  13. I am having a problem finding the actual WinpE driver to add to the image.
  14. I have almost deployed my entire network using SCCM2012 however I have a couple Lenovo desktops on site and they use a Realtek PCIe GBE family NIC, and I can't find a driver to enable me to image them. I am wondering if anyone has had this problem and found an answer.
  15. thanks for the reply. I have had a look on that site and am I right with this expression Set-ExchangeServer -Identity mail.Contoso.com -StaticDomainController dc-01.Contoso.com dc-02.Contoso.com -StaticGlobalCatalogs dc-01.Contoso.com dc-02.Contoso.com
  16. I am in the process of upgrading my domain I have 3 new 2008 R2 domain controllers and 2 2003 old DC's, exchange 2007 which is on a 2003 member server. Last night I moved all the FSMO roles to my new DC and then I dcpromoed the two 2003 domain controllers down to member servers. When I came in this morning exchange was broken in that it was unable to connect to the domain. The DNS was ok so in the end I dcpromoed original dc back to a dc and exchange is working again. So is there a setting in exchange that refers to a domain controller as apposed to the domain?
  17. I have got my various images now working really nicely, and I have imported all the software I need to deploy. This is where I want to know what the best practice is, i have several software installs that will go to every machine, a sort of baseline shall we say and then different departments have different installs . So what is the best practice?
  18. Found them thanks
  19. Right click tools where do I get these?
  20. I have managed to do this but when I schedule the TS it doesn't seem to run when I want it to. Is there a setting that changes how often the client looks to see what is required.
  21. Well after some reading and messing around I think I have answered my own question with the following commands. I will try a deploy tomorrow once I am back at work Dism /Mount-wim /WimFile:"c:\temp\7_Pro.wim" /index:1 /MountDir:c:\temp\mount Dism /image:c:\temp\mount /Set-SysLocale:en-GB Dism /image:c:\temp\\mount /Set-UserLocale:en-GB Dism /image:c:\temp\\mount /Set-InputLocale:0809:00000809 Dism /image:c:\temp\\mount /Set-TimeZone:"GMT Standard Time" Dism /unmount-wim /mountdir:c:\temp\mount /commit I can confirm this works
  22. Another problem I have found and it must be a simple answer but I am unable to find it. Once the win 7 client has installed it has US date and the locale is US, now I am in the UK so I need en-GB how do I achieve this in SCCM2012
  23. After quite a bit of searching around the web I noticed the WinPE drivers pack I downloaded was A05 then I found this site http://en.community.dell.com/techcenter/enterprise-client/w/wiki/2065.dell-driver-cab-files-for-enterprise-client-os-deployment.aspx and it has WinPE driver Pack A09 this has sorted out my problem and maybe will help someone else out too.
  24. Well that has worked for all my workstations except the Dell Optiplex 390's. They are still the same as before. They will download the boot.wim then start booting the winPE image I get the first screen "Initializing Windows" and it crashes out. I have used F8 but I am unable to find a smsts.log I presume it must be driver related But I am at a loss as to why.
  25. Hi Rocket Man I am trying your suggestions out as we speak thanks, oh and yes it was the Dell winPE3.0 driver pack
