  1. Hello IT Geeks, I have a task got assigned by my boss to update the BIOS firmware on all the systems in company. which included different types of laptop and desktops models likewise, OptiPlex 7010/9010/9050 and Latitude E6450/7440 etc.. I would like to ask your support/help to do the risk analysis and the best way to doing this? I have pull the report from SCCM and found that we have barely 5000+ objects. It would be really nice if you can explain the workflow to carry this out smoothly? 1) How can i check what is the latest BIOS firmware version available for specific model? 2) Do i need to create application package for user based install or classic package for device based install? 3) How many types of collection do i need to create? 4) We have many offices globally so how this deployments needs to roll out on global location? 5) What are the things i should keep in mind first ? OS Overview/Impact, Updates and patches available, Potential actions, and best approach? Any help would be appreciated? -Roshan
  2. we have tried to add SCCM SUP and then added WSUS on W2012, but it says..POST CONFIGURATION FAILED. and we are not able to install WSUS properly.
  3. okay, or can you tell me if i would be able to manage WSUS updates from SCCM 2012 server if i configured WSUS 3.0 SP2 on additional Windows server 2008 R2?
  4. i did that, but i wanted to know if WSUS 3.0 SP2 is compatible with server 2012 and even with sccm2012? if you have any link, which has details configuratin steps, please post here..
  5. hey guys, does anybody have any idea, if we can configure WSUS on windows server 2012 (which also has sccm 2012 installed on it) I have configured sccm 2012 stand alone primary server and sql database 2012 on separate windows server 2012. but whenever I run wsus 3.0 SP2 on sccm server it shows "this program is not compatible" can anybody brief me process or steps to configure wsus in correct way?? -thanks
  6. I have created a LogMein rescue package to make a deployment on our customer support (300) pc’s. however these CC agents don’t have local admin privileges on their systems; but have made adjustment in program “run with administrative rights” this package contains 3 program 1) a VB script file that will add a website to IE trusted secure zone in internet options. 2) a web console plugin that will enable an add-on in IE 3) technician console program that will install on desktop. When I have tested this package on my test PC, it works well without any issues. But when I have tested on 2 Agent’s (windows 7/XP) PC , it is showing my below message Though when I check, it is properly removing older version and installing newer updated version of LMI 7.3 If I click on “don’t show this again” and LogMeInRescueConsole 7.3 loads properly. I wonder, if LMI tool is getting updated, still its showing message to “update a new version” and I didn’t see this message on my test pc. How I could disable/remove this message? Please suggest your inputs here. Thanks
  7. can you please suggest what workaround I can do to run that package?

  10. Let me give you a brief idea on this. we have a 200 computers in a dept and got the requirement to change paging file size, 3 GB switch and adjust pc for best performance and I have created a package for it. rest of the things are works perfect but only the thing is reg file works after importing to computer manually.
  11. I am just sending a package to my test computer
  12. got it, I tried this command line in existing program but getting an error in execmgr line - cmd.exe /c reg.exe import "pcvis.reg" GetFileVersionInfoSize failed for file C:\WINDOWS\system32\CCM\Cache\TTG0028C.37.S-1-5-21-202387345-4201324245-3709672714-7083\cmd.exe, error 1812
  13. First thing, thanks a lot for your prompt response Indeed, i wanted to change "adjust pc for best performance" for current user profile only and not for entire computer. can you please let me know If I can program this registry file in package? and what needs to be done in - cmd.exe /c reg.exe import "Userprefs.reg" I didn't get this command line, means where and how should I use it?? Desktop.zip
  14. some updates on developments Reg ADD "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\VisualEffects" /V VisualFXSetting /T REG_DWORD /F /D 2 - these are the content from batch file and it works well but I need to run it using a vbscript silently - I tried it using - set wshell = CreateObject("WScript.Shell") wshell.run “PCVIS.bat" set wshell = nothing but its not working
  15. Hey TechGuys, can anybody help to write a script for windows xp computers set " adjust for best performance" in computer properties. I need to make a deployment this package over 300+ computers in our office. -Roshan
