Hi, Ive got a GPO which I need to apply to all laptops running Windows 7. I have therefore written a query which should detect if there is a battery installed AND has Win 7 installed. SELECT * FROM Win32_Battery and SELECT * FROM Win32_OperatingSystem WHERE Version = "6.1%" and ProductType = "1" However, the DC is rejecting this syntax. Where am I going wrong? Is it not possible to combine WMI querys in this way?

Hi, I need a script which will enable me to achieve the following goals if someone could assist. All workstations are either WIn7 or XP (just a tiny amount of XP) Printer installs on each device are currently of an unknown ilk (each one has been installed manually!) The script needs to:- Remove ALL local and network printers Add the following printers \\printserver\mono \\printserver\colour We are only currently moving to print servers (i know, i know.. !) and i would like to clear up each workstation from a printing perspective and start again. Also, would you deploy this via policy? Or would you use SCCM2007. We have both. Any help would be greatly received. Rev

Hi, Could I request a little bit of help if you would be so kind. 2008R2 Active Directory Win7 Professional client PC 2003R2 Internal CA In a brand new test OU with no other policies applying, I have successfully managed to deploy a machine certificate perfectly using a GPO. However, when I test this against our production OU (21 nested GPOs) the Cert will not apply. I have managed to isolate the root cause of the issue to a single GPO, however its a very complex Win7 Baseline Machine Policy, and the creator has since left the organisation! If I run GP Trace, it says that the policies are deploying fine. I have also made the GPO which deploys the cert to be the last GPO to be applied if that makes any sense. Can anyone tell me which Windows services need to be running, as i'm suspecting that this fault may be being caused by a disabled service. Thanks in advance.

Hi - im after a bit of advice. Ive got a hub and spoke setup of SCCM2012 - single site, multiple distribution points, one per IP subnet. But im having a bit of a funny where for example, clients on a subnet called STM are choosing to use the management point of a different subnet! Ive checked all of my configuration settings / boudaries etc. Does anyone have any ideas?

I think that ive sorted it. i found an article on this very site! Is there any easy way to verify whether or not clients are not talking to the DP rather than the PS for software deployments? Ta

Yes - everything has worked brilliantly. Can anyone send me a link which describes how to configured a 2008r2 distriubtion point? Everything is being pushed directly from the PS at the moment which is far from ideal, so i need to work this feature in next. Thanks again,

Yes. We would want to retain full control from the center, so we wouldnt be delegating any control out to the subnets. Hell no!

Sorry - allow me to clarify. All sites will be managed by one IT section. What i mean is that each of the sites all run different software and configuration settings etc. Cheers

Each of these sites will need to be managed independently of each other though, so im assuming that this wont cause any problems?

Hi, Ive got a Win 2008r2 running a brand new installation of sccm 2012. (24gb of ram. 24 cores, 2TB Disk) Network is a hub and spoke configuration. We have 20 remote sites (possibly going to grow to 100 over time) connecting back into the hub site, each spoke has a 10meg full duplex WAN link and each site also has its own class C subnet assigned to it. No more than about 100 client machines per spoke, all running Win7 Professional, Office 2010, all machines throughout the estate are members of the same Active Directory. I need to be able to push out Operating systems, WSUS, software packages etc from the hub. Am i better configuring secondary sites at each of the remote locations? Of will DPs suffice?
