  1. This is the procedure I made: Install Windows Server 2012 R2, update OS Install MS SQL Server 2012 (with these settings: Windows Auth, set it to default instance name which is MSSQLSERVER, credentials used is the domain admin account to avoid any permission issue, specified minimum and maximum memory, enabled TCP/IP used for ConfigMgr machine) Installed SCCM 2012 R2, followed the guide as indicated in the pinned discussion here for Release Candidate) and since the second step is adding SUP and WSUS, I followed that procdure as well. The error I'm getting is this: http://eskonr.com/2013/06/wsus-role-failed-on-windows-server-2012-with-error-the-operation-cannot-be-completed-because-the-server-that-you-specified-requires-a-restart/ Here's the weird part. It says that I need to restart after that attempt to add the WSUS role. After I restart the server it still doesnt add the WSUS role. So what I did, was to attempt to add the WSUS role again, eventhough the installation failed prompted, when I click on Tools and checked, the WSUS component is there and when I executed this, the WSUS wizard did run. So my next step was cancelled the WSUS wizard and instead add the SUP role for it to trigger the WSUS setup wizard, right? after setting up everything and showed no error, I decided to reboot the server just to ensure if everything's ok, unfortunately after the reboot, the WSUS disappeared again. I checked IIS the WSUS site was already there but there was no path since the WSUS role disappeared. Regards, Jeff
  2. Hi, I'm having a hard time installing and configuring SCCM 2012 R2 using the following: Current Setup -Windows Server 2012 R2 -SCCM 2012 R2 -MS SQL 2012 SP1 The guides here uses -Windows Server 2008 (which uses WSUS 3.0 SP2) -SCCM 2012 -MS SQL 2008 SP1 And I'm having trouble in adding the WSUS role with my current setup. Thanks Jeff
  3. Hi, just discovered our company's 2 DC (DC1 and DC2) have both same ObjectSID. I'm not 100% sure if this is the cause to some of the problems in our domain like i.e 1. When a computer name is disjoined in our domain, the next time that you joined a system with the same computer name, it will proceed in joining the domain but during the first time that a user will login using his/her credentials, Trust relationship will happen. The only time this user can login is when he/she unplugs the cable. The only remedy we have at this point is to change the computer name. I've experienced disjoining a computer system on a domain that doesnt have any issues but as soon as I rejoin this machine, there won't have any problems. Thanks Jeff
  4. Hi, I've setup SCCM 2012 for our company mainly focuses on Software Deployment and Software Updates distribution. Software Deployment's working fine but for Software Updates, I seem cant to deploy these updates. I based my setup instructions on this URL: http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?/topic/4467-using-sccm-2012-rc-in-a-lab-part-6-deploying-software-updates/ But for some reason, Additional info: WSUS is syncing with MS and SCCM is syncing with WSUS. I get these error messages: Please see attachments. I'm not sure if I'm missing something here. Thanks in advance Jeff
  5. Hi, our company would like to setup Lotus Traveler for remote users access using either IPhone or Android phones but our Global partners recommended to have a reverse proxy on the front end facing the internet for security purposes. And this reverse proxy will be responsible for ldap authentication on the DC. Things I've done so far: 1. Installed Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 on the reverse proxy server and done installing IIS ARR 2. Installed Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 on the Lotus Traveler Server and done installing Lotus Domino for users to browse over the server and download the required software for their respective mobile type. Temporarily setup an administrator just for testing to be able to access the site and download the software for iphone and Android but eventually would like to use windows authentication to be able to access the site. Has anyone done this before? using IIS ARR Jeff
