Dear All . I've configured my sccm 2012 server to have a second distribution point (DP2) other than the primary server to serve the OSD project everything was followed just like what experts recommended , content (boot images ) never get replicated to my DP2 ,it keep in progress for more than 3-4 hours and finally get failed with this error in the monitoring tab . "package transfer manager failed update the package XXX ,version 5 on pull distribution point DP2 , this pull distribution points has no source from which it can download content , will try again later " I removed the rule and reinstalled it without success , my distmgr.log and PkgXferMgr.log files does not say something understandable . my distmgr errors is _wfopen_s() failed for \\?\UNC\dp2.xx.com \E$\SCCMContentLib\PkgLib\XXX00004.INI.05e8f2c2 with error 2 WritePrivateProfileStringW failed for \\?\UNC\dp2.xx.com\E$\SCCMContentLib\PkgLib\xxx00004.INI ProfileWriteString failed; 0x80070002 ProfileWriteInt failed; 0x80070002 my PkgXferMgr.log errors is PullDPQueryResult() failed to execute WMI Query SELECT * FROM SMS_PullDPState WHERE PackageID='XXX00004' AND PackageVersion='7'. error = 80004005 Unspecified error Thanks in advance .

Dears . I have SCCM 2012 Sp1 primary server , I followed the articles shared by the experts her for my scenario but with small different , the different was i have my WSUS server and i configured it as a SUP point , now i create the ADR and everything showed normal , however when i check the update timestamps for my client i see it too old ... and once i ran the update method (should it update automatically ) i get error saying that the update failed due to network connection , on my server Update Group was created and I checked the Update Group Deployments created by the rule and see the level of compliance and was fine and deployment package were created . now my software update point sync status showed that the last sync was too old also when i check distribution point configuration status i also see error in red there , the exact error was "detail will be available when server finish processing the message" . is it possible to have a separate server to combine those rule together WSUS/SUP/OSD ?

yes Peter , i appreciate it a lot if you could show me in which order should i start the deployment , should i start installing the console on the primary site server and then the WSUS role on the SUP-WSUS server ? should i choose the classification and products during the installation of the WSUS role on the SUP-WSUS server or doing that from the console ? what would happen to my clients that are currently redirected to my existing WSUS Server ? thanks alot for your efforts . I prefer to let my sup-wsus server to sync from "Microsoft update right" now and not to "synchronize from an upstream data source location URL" which is in this case my existing WSUS server just until i make sure that everything is goes fine so i avoid the risk for my current PC's get fail to update ...what do u think ?

Hi Peter ,, thanks for the reply . Just to confirm my understanding in my scenario, i have to install the WSUS SP2 Service on the SUP-WSUS server and sync its update with my Existing WSUS-Server and to leave everything as it on my existing server and to install the console on the primary SCCM Server (Primary Site) ... do am right ?

We have an existing WSUS server that just works fine , my sccm server type is a primary site type (one server with SP1 final ) , i dont want to install WSUS on the same box as the primary SCCM server , because i want to segregate roles between server , so my existing WSUS still play the role therefore i have created the WSUS-SUP role on a dedicated server site role to handle the process together on behalf of the primary server ,am so confused where i have to install the WSUS SP2 service and console , is it on the WSUS-SUP server and SCCM ??? from where each server should sync the updates ( Micorosoft , URl ..etc) , hope to find my answers here .

Dears . I had a problem on my CM-2012 SP1 Beta server and the only way to get rid of it was to uninstall the site and reinstall it again using a different site code , now my clients have the old site code and the old client version 5.00.7711 (initial version) and 5.00.7782 (beta version) .... i need to re-assign my clients again to my new SCCM site and let them have the new site code and to upgrade them to the latest version of sp1 final (5.00.7804) .... i know there is a new feature in SP1 to "update them automatically " but does it work in my case as they are still pointing to a different site . thanks for the help .

it has announced by MS thta if you decide to go SP1 Final from SP1 Beta you need to uninstall the prerelease version before you install System Center 2012 Configuration Manager SP1 , is there any article or document that describe the process .

Dear Expertise . I have a headache here , am running CM2012-SP1 Beta version-build number 5.0.7782.1000 and trying to install update KB2801987 to fix the client issue and once i do that it keep says "This update applies to product version 5.0.7804 but the version found locally is 5.0.7782.1000, this update is not applicable to this system " and i understand i have to go SP1 RTM ... do i need to do a full CM 2012 sp1 installation to have RTM SP1 or there is an MSI for the SP1 RTM ?? does SP1 Final mean SP1 RTM ? moreover i start to see different version of CM clients installed on the machines .... 5.00.7782.1000 and 5.00.7711.000 , what is the difference between them ? any help would be appreciated .
