  1. I am testing with a Dell Presicion E7470. Ive downloaded the CAB from the dell website http://en.community.dell.com/techcenter/enterprise-client/w/wiki/2065.dell-command-deploy-driver-packs-for-enterprise-client-os-deployment#Precisionand extracted and imported all the drivers. I had to find a working PE nic to get it booted in the first place and I have tried letting it pick drivers and forcing the TS to only use the new drivers I have added. Each time windows 10 installs and device manager show lots and lots of devices without drivers installed. The smsts log just says it couldn't find applicable drivers for each device. How do you add a pause and resume from a pause in the TS? Most of the drivers dont have msi's. V
  2. I have setup a TS to deploy windows 10 and downloaded and imported the drivers into SCCM from the dell website. I have a step in the "Install Operating System" section "Apply Device Drivers" and I have tried limiting it to just the windows 10 group of drivers or allowing it to search all drivers. Either way windows installs but has a whole host of devices with no drivers including the NIC. Has anyone else seen this?
  3. My problem was due to another administrator in my domain deleting the account I had configured SCCM to use. I recreated it and a whole host of issues dis-appeared.
  4. Cheers guys. I found the issue. Someone deleted the account i was using. I recreated it and its working again.
  5. Hi please see attached logs. smsts.log smsts-20160129-222124.log
  6. Hi Anyweb, I am using 2012 R2 SP1 CU2. Windows 10 Ent The ADK version is Which logs should I attach?
  7. I am trying to capture a windows 10 image but it fails with the following. Anyone been successful?
  8. Yeah when I go to control-alt-del it is joined to the domain and the computer account has been created in the OU I specified. I can login successfully. I have changed the order of the task sequence and put the config mgr client to the end, now it fails with an error.
  9. Hi All, I am hoping someone can help me. I recently upgraded my sccm server to 2012 R2 SP1 and now none of my task sequences complete, they put the image on, install drivers and install the Config Manager client but then it all stops. I have windows updates, application installs after the config manager client and they all fail. I have created a new task sequence to test with thinking maybe it was just affecting historic sequences but its affecting all. I don't know where to start with trouble shooting this and when I find logs on the client I don't know how to decipher the cryptic text. Can anyone help? dism.log smsts.log smsts-20160128-170943.log
  10. Hi, I have a few clients that are not installing updates. When I look at them in the deployment monitoring node they appear under the grey unknown section and their status is Client check passed/Active but they havent installed any patches since June. For one of the clients on another deployment it is in an error state "Failed to install update(s) 0x8024400D Same as SOAP_E_CLIENT - SOAP client found the message was malformed; fix before resending." Does anyone have a definitive guide or can offer me comprehensive advice on how to diagnose patching problems in configuration manager? Thanks Vince
  11. All fixed thx. The hotfixed enabled me to import those drivers but SCCM was still picky about which one it would boot with.
  12. Help. I'm trying to get my 7440's to build win 7 via sccm. When I Pxe boot I briefly see the "preparing network connections" and then the window dis-appears and the process just hangs. I have enabled command Support and ipconfig shows no IP address. I have downloaded the dell cab plus I have also downloaded the intel drivers and the dell PE driver cabs. I have placed all the drivers on a usb stick and one by one gone through them trying to find a nic driver that works. I found an intel driver e1d6332.inf works and I can initialise it and obtain an ip address. Full path ProWin32\Pro1000\Win32\NDSI63\e1d6332.inf Next I tried to add this driver to sccm and the x86 boot image. Here I get an error "the driver does not apply to any supported OS" and it fails to import! Can anyone help me out here ive been working on this for three days now Vince
  13. Yeah its dell, thanks ill have a look.
  14. Can anyone explain why I am seeing this? I have recreated the boot image and added the desired drivers to it but I still get this error. Thanks in advance for any help. Vince
  15. Hey, Every time a new laptop model/generation arrives at the door the level 2 guys give me a whole bunch of drivers and say "Can you import these into SCCM?" The issue I have is the machines fail to fully boot off the network but the cab file for the new device contains 174 chipset drivers and 20 nic drivers. I don't want to import all of these into the boot image as this takes forever and seems to cause problems but which should I import! Can anyone give me some guidance on how to make an informed choice on which drivers I should add to the boot image? Thanks in advance for any help. Vince
  16. Hi I found the driver import log and decided that the error was because some of the drivers in the folder had already been imported. Thanks for your reply though.
  17. Just remember the 25 threshold before KMS will activate clients on the network.
  18. I use unknown with a password. You can then take a new machine out of a box and boot it directly from NIC the only time you need to interveen and delete the object in SCCM, as Rocket Man said, is if you want to re-deploy a machine or if a fault occurs during the task sequence after the object has been created. I have never seen that PXE flag set dont know what thats for or need to reset it! Regards Vince
  19. Hi all. Im having a problem importing drivers. My setup is SCCM 2012 SP1. I have been trying to import drivers but am just getting the SMS provider error after it completes. I have changed the setting s so it doenst update distribution points and also so it doesnt add the drivers to any boot files but im still having no luck. I have also created a new package and tried to import into that but I just get the same problem. I have seen people saying that if you moved your SQL db files then you need to reset the trusted flag but I havent moved mine! Does anyone know how I can trouble shoot this problem? Thanks in advance Vince "A stressed SCCM admin"
  20. Thanks for your reply. I waited most of the day but Monday morning, issue has disappeared and all actions are now available. Thanks anyway.
  21. I hope someone can help. I have pushed out the client to a windows 7 machine from my 2012 sp1 sccm server. It has installed but under the action tab only shows two options, "Machine Policy retrieval and evaluation" and "User policy retrieval and evaluation" I know there should be more than just two but cannot fathom out where they have got to. Please help! Vince
  22. My application catalog was working and then I attempted to configure it for ssl. I have since given up on the ssl idea and reverted the settings but now I get this error for every app. I have removed the "Application Catalog web service point" and "Application catalog website point" roles and re-installed but still get this exact same error. I have added to the local intranet zone but still it fails. Does anyone have any ideas on how to best attack this problem? Thanks in advance.
  23. Deploy this to the Capture User Data collection you created earlier. Deploy this to the Restore User Data collection you created earlier. When/where did we create these collections?
