  1. Hi Con, I did see something similar when i was enrolling Windows Phone 10 in the developer preview but now we've got our hands on a 550 and 950 with the actual WP10 release, the display name in SCCM (we're running 2012 R2 SP1 CU2) is still the old naming convention: I did try to edit the phone name before enrolling the device and this hasn't made a difference. Can I just ask you something? Have you been able to push down any policies to the WP10 device yet? So far i've been able to enrol the device but not actually send any policies to it. When checking the monitoring it's showing the policy as being non-compliant. Cheers Dan
  2. yup. They said ignore them for now. Your corrupt folder within the statesys folder will fill up though so i'd clear that down every-so-often until they release CU(whatever). Nothing official but i'll see if I can get that info out of the Intune engineer.
  3. I hate Microsoft as well...but...when you speak to a Microsoft SCCM professional in the UK who resolves the problem, part of my faith becomes restored So those errors in the statesys.log, ignore those. As we all first thought, Microsoft have been clever and added a type ID into Intune that is not recognized by the SCCM database (yet! I stress yet!). They've no idea who done it but it's preparing for a future extension release which is coming soon. They've not said what the extension is though. If you've got any problems pushing down configuration baselines to your mobile devices, all you need to do is make sure that within 'Configuration Baseline Deployment Properties' you have "Remediate noncompliant rules when supported". "But this is already ticked" I hear some of you cry. Indeed. I had this option ticked last week on my old SCCM environment on my only test baseline but the policy never went down to the device. So installing SCCM 2012 R2 SP1 CU2 has done something...just no idea what though! In addition they've fixed the problem with adding Windows phone apps through SCCM. Before CU2 you couldn't add the app from the Windows store as the URL/GUID was invalid. Now you can find the app and click OK. I hope this info helps.
  4. Morning chaps. So here is what I know... our managed phones cannot receive configuration baselines or apps pushed through SCCM we can remotely retire/wipe and push down compliance policies to my Windows phone I don't understand how a compliance policy (out of the box config so must be at least 6 characters) gets to my Windows phone within minutes yet a simple configuration baseline with the same setting doesn't? The Intune engineer has been in touch this morning and we've given him a login to enrol an iPad he has. I can see it's enrolled and we get the same errors again. At least this time he can grab the logs from the device and analyse them. Hopefully hear something back a little later on this morning.
  5. You're right Bumbi85, I think those messages are nothing but... So I'm right back where I started and where all of us have been from the very beginning. I've literally just enabled iOS9 extensions, created a configuration item, added it to a baseline and deployed the baseline to a user collection. I'm not even going to both trying a Windows phone yet. ho-hum. Back to Intune support I go.
  6. I hate to say it but it looks like CU2 might fix the issues. Well it's fixed the missing extensions on my new SCCM environment anyway...however the home lab on the same CU version doesn't have any extensions still so i'm remaining skeptical and confused. Now the next test is to enrol a device and see if the SMS_STATE_SYSTEM critical errors disappear. I'll let you know how I get on.
  7. Just finished upgrading my home lab from SP1 CU1 to CU2 and the compmon.log gets an execution state for all of the other components expect for... Can not get the current execution state for component Windows_Intune_Service since it is not installed or completed installing So basically back to square one. Am I being impatient? probably but I'm not convinced CU2 is going to fix the problems with the connector component. If anyone else has installed CU2 and have had any success please let me know!
  8. So from speaking to Intune support this morning he mentioned that CU2 came out last night. Now as my current SCCM environment is R2 CU4 (not R2 SP1 CU1 as that is now knackered!) I told him that upgrading to the latest and greatest is not ideal as the current set-up can't get the extensions downloaded, so that should be the focus of the problem. He then said that there is a chance R2 CU4 is now unsupported and we have to upgrade...I asked him politely to check that before we think about upgrading. I don't think MS understand this issue which is concerning but if CU2 fixes it, then i'll be a happy SCCM'er. Going to install CU2 on my home lab now and see if it works. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3100144
  9. Just had a call from my Intune engineer. He's just leaving for the day (lucky sod) but he has asked for a remote session first thing tomorrow morning. I'm not sure what we're going to get out of that but at least it's better than me looking at the same old logs over and over again!
  10. well i had both scenarios. I did have it connected and then upgraded to R2 SP1 CU1 (on my home lab which is still not working) And I didn't have it connected when on R2 CU4 (on my work live environment which is also still not working) Both exhibit the same symptoms. Had contact from my Intune engineer to say he's finally got round to looking at the logs. I'll hopefully hear something back today or tomorrow.
  11. Nothing. Phone call from MS this morning saying they had the logs but will call me once they have an update. On a separate note, found these errors in the compmon.log from when i first enabled the Intune connector on my new SCCM environment: Failed to read the required Operations Management component registry key values on local computer; error = 6 (0x6). Failed to read in current property values and refresh the COpsMgmtComponent object; error = 6 (0x6). Not seen them since the 5th November but then the rest of the log is filled up with this: Checking components ... Can not get the current execution state for component Windows_Intune_Service since it is not installed or completed installing. Waiting until the next polling cycle in 300 seconds from now.
  12. Spoke to someone in SCCM support this morning. Mentioned the ID 8001 error and they didn't know much about it. First set of logs didn't get through to them  so just waiting on another link from them to send them over again.
  13. Not yet. Tweeted MS Intune over the weekend and ticket was escalated (how much good that'll do I don't know!). Ended up getting a diagnostics tool from MS which compresses all of the logs from the SCCM server and sends it to the engineer. Sent that back last night so should hopefully hear something within the next 24/48 hours. The Intune service dashboard showed this update for the 7th: ========= [Resolved] Service is restored. 14. I have the same issue >>> http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/topic/13210-intune-sccm-topic-type-8001/ I decided to create a new SCCM instance in my home lab (SCCM 2012 R2 CU4) and none of the extensions have come down so it looks like whatever they've done to the Intune connector within the last week has broken it. Also logged a call with Microsoft to which I get the standard response "we'll get the engineer to call you back with an update straight away"...that was 2 days ago! Hope this gets fixed soon.
  15. Good Afternoon all, We've undertaken a project to manage our mobile devices using SCCM through the Intune connector. Now we were running SCCM 2012 R2 CU4 for ages only using it for OSD but we've upgraded it to SP1 and also moved onto CU1 because of the fix for Intune. The problem we face is we cannot send any policies (whether it be configuration items, apps, etc) down to our mobile devices (windows phone 8.1 or iOS 9). The error in the statesys.log shows: SQL MESSAGE: spProcessStateReport - Record 1 failed processing with error -50001: Topic type 8001 is unknown CMessageProcessor - Non-fatal error while processing N_wx54ojce.SMX The devices enrol fine (company portal goes on OK, etc) mind you and we can send down remote wipe/retire commands and they work okay but it's just when the devices talk to SCCM/Intune. I can post any extra logs if needed but i was wondering if anyone had comes across this before? Cheers Dan
  16. perfect, thank you! The Boston DP was on a new subnet which meant the IP range wasn't in scope in the default site boundary group. D'oh...I've added that in she now builds in double quick time. appreciate the help. thanks alot.
  17. Good Morning all, We have our SCCM primary site sitting in London but have 2 distribution points set-up in another site in London and in Boston US. Now when users in Boston attempt to build a machine they notice it takes rather a long time i.e. over 12 hours to get the OS image installed. So we looked at the logs and it appears to be calling the data from our London DP. Now we definitely have the content distributed to our Boston DP but according to the logs it's not using the right DP to push down the data. I'm guessing this is obvious but is there any way I can make sure the Boston DP is the main point for them when it comes to building their machines? Apologies if this is a bit of a numpty question! Cheers Dan
  18. FIXED: ...And it's working a treat now. So there was no need for me to re-install the DP or MP roles. All part of the process I suppose!
  19. UPDATE: Now I appear to be getting somewhere. I think I now know the root cause. Way back when I first installed this SCCM server I also added the SUP role. At the end of last week I decided to uninstall the SUP role from my primary site and funnily enough that's when all the problems began. After a quick Google I found something: http://heinrichandsccm.blogspot.co.uk/2013/05/http-error-50019-internal-server-error.html 3. The following command needs to be run to disable the suscomp.dll that was installed when the WSUS server role was installed, Im not 100% sure but from what I could see compression schemes are in every application pool and when WSUS x64 was installed the suscomp.dll chucks out the 500.19 error when its trying to load the x86 application pool. So from an elevated command prompt running the following. %windir%\system32\inetsrv\appcmd.exe set config -section:system.webServer/httpCompression /-[name='xpress'] So off I went and made the changes as suggested. BINGO! And DOUBLE BINGO! Now to test the PXE boot from my remote DP...
  20. UPDATE: Dug a little deeper and found out that my MP has decided to eat its own feet. So did some searching on this error and found that I should visit: http://<MP NAME>/sms_mp/.sms_aut?mplist http://<MP NAME>/sms_mp/.sms_aut?mpcert As expected, they both return: So I've checked my permissions on the SQL box and my SCCM account is an admin on this. So I think I can rule out permissions. I've tried uninstalling the MP role (rebooting) and re-installing it (rebooting) but alas this hasn't worked either. still digging!!!
  21. Good Afternoon all, I've run into a small problem which has been annoying me for a few days. My remote DP has stopped working and I can no longer PXE boot for my OSD. Here is the error from the SMSPXE logs on the DP: I've looked around for this error and cannot find anything related to the problem I'm having. Apparently "80004005" errors are related to "access denied" so I've checked my SCCM AD accounts and nothing has changed. To try and fix the problem I've removed the PXE and DP role, restarted the DP and then re-installed the role & PXE but this hasn't resolved the problem. I've also checked the WDS service on my remote DP and this is running fine. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Cheers Dan
  22. Thanks Peter. I've just added this into the task sequence and I see the following options: Now is this task going to install all software updates that have been downloaded, approved or whatever is in the Software Update Group? Any ideas on how this can be defined?
  23. agreed Jacob but unfortunately I need to include Office updates as well which, from what I understand, offline servicing doesn't support.
  24. After a day perusing the web I found the following: http://myitforum.com/myitforumwp/2012/09/26/using-offline-updates-with-configmgr-2012-osd/ It looks like you cannot insert your updates in SCCM 2012 like you used to in 2007. To workaround this you need to: Create an application package Tick "this package contains source files" and point it to your updates folder that was created when your Software Update deployment package once done publish to the appropriate distribution points got there in the end
  25. Good Afternoon all, This could be a very basic question so i'll apologise in advance. In SCCM 2007 you could create a deployment package within Software updates, distribute it and then using MDT within the OSD task sequence, add the update package in: Now in SCCM 2012, I can create a deployment package for a bunch of Windows updates but when I attempt to use MDT within the OSD task sequence to insert this in, I don't see the deployment group I created. I only see software packages: I've made sure that the software update deployment package has been distributed to the right DP's. Now the only thing i'm unsure about is whether I need to deploy that package. That wasn't the way in 2007 so it could be different in 2012. Now i'm either missing something or looking at this completely the wrong way. Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Dan
