Hi All,
I'm trying to deploy Server 2016 via SCCM 1606 OSD. I've got the TS all built and I can successfully deploy to a hyper-v guest image, however, when I try deploying to a VMware guest, it fails at the Setup WIndows and Configuration Manager step. So it gets through the Apply steps (Apply OS, Apply Device Drivers, Apply Windows SEttings, Apply Network Settings), is joined to the domain, etc... It then reboots, the console goes black for a little while, and then i get the login prompt. I can then login, but there is no SCCM Client, no ccmsetup folder, no ccm folder, etc...
I've imported the latest drivers from VMware VM tools 10.0.30000743 into my driver store in SCCM. That VM Tools is the latest version we have available for our environment.
The tough thing is i can't find any smsts logs to see where things are failing. The only thing i see is a hidden file called _SMSTSVolumeID.<guid> sitting on the root of C: but it's only 1kb. There really isn't anything jumping out in the event logs as to what the problem is either.
The only weird thing I see is that I can eject the NIC and storage as media.
Again, Server 2016 deployments to Hyper-V are working. It's just VMware systems where this is happening, so i think it's a driver and timing issue, but since I have networking and the OS works up to that point, i'm not sure what i'm missing.
Thanks for any help!
