  1. For giggles have you disabled the firewall on your PXE server and then tried. Just to eliminate ports as an issue? Edited to add: also have you tried on multiple clients, to rule out a problem with that clients nic? Also try BIOS updates on the clients.
  2. If you have your DHCP on a different server you don't need to do any of the DHCP options. If your PXE server is in a different subnet than your vm, you need to have your network people add an IP Helper address on your router.
  3. I found this report by Ryan @ NINet.org a few months ago and it is great. While on the surface it doesn't look like it will give you what you need, check this report out. It brings up a list of your computers with a link to vendor's warrenty page for that specific machine and on that page, it will give you the HP product number as well.
