  2. Hi Guys, I'm trying to deploy a sysprepped image, which i have been using for many other sequences, in another sequence which is a little diffenrent. This sequence creates a vhd and my task sequence lets the image be deployed in that vhd. Everything works until the very last point of the progress bar of the Apply Operating System step. This is the log: ------------------ Unable to open reparse point E:\Documents and Settings. Permissions on the requested may be configured incorrectly. Access is denied. 3. Hi Guys, I have searched the web for this, but can't find a solution. We have now a sequence in place that images the computers (HP) using zero-touch. Everything works great, but the issue is that we have a software package that we use (Time Freeze). The sequence puts everything in place and also logs in the user (these are public PC's) so its ready to go. To enable Time Freeze, we have a registry key in RunOnce to enable the software. you can't of course enable it in your sysprepped image, because the whole point is that this software puts back any changes after a reboot. So we just capture the image while this software is disabled (admin's can enable it and disable it) and the reg key will enable it. You only have to enable it once, because after a restart it will enable itself again. The problem now is that after the OSD the public user is logged in automatically but the RunOnce key needs to be run when logged in as an admin user. This is because we have restricted almost everything in the public profile with GPO, als running regedit I was thinking of a solution that might be possible. After the OSD, let the admin user log in once, RunOnce key will run and after 1 minute it will restart the computer (this is part of the command in that key) and after the restart the public user will auto login. Is this possible? Because if i do this manually, meaning i log off after the public user is auto logged in, and than manually login as the admin. The key than is triggered and after 1 min it restarts and activates the Time Freeze. This all works manually. Any ideas?
  4. Hi guys, We have these public computers, that do login to the domain and have their standard restricted applications like internet and office. I can't find a way why these computers are not able to receive my tasks to, for example, reimage the computer or to deploy software silent. Please note that this does work on our office computers, meaning computers for the employees, but it does not work on the public computers. Any idea why i cannot for example deploy a reimage task to it? I can see it in my assets and can remote control it. If i login as an admin user or a normal office user on that computer it does work.
  5. I'm sorry for the late reply was very busy with the implementation from test to production. I managed to figure this out. I have this powershell script that sets the OSDComputerName, but only for new computers. The others I just migrate and preserve the name. Sometimes we use the easy way if we do it only for 1 or 2 computers, by just deploying it to unknown computers as described by you.
  6. @anyweb. Thanks for the fast replies and support. I will check it out @peter. Thanks man.
  7. Does it have to be in a mdt task? Can't we just do a task sequence variable after applying the image? The variable would be something like, instead of DEPT-%serialnumber% something like %incrementnumber%
  8. @anyweb: Im using sccm 2012r2 with MDT 2013 integration @loewie1984: will check the link you posted. Not at my workstation now
  9. Hi Guys, I'm trying my best to find a solution for this but I haven't found one yet (or i'm just not looking hard enough). My question is simple, i hope the solution is simple to haha The complete TS is automated, it activates windows and so on except for the computer name. We want to have it like this DEPT-01 and next will be DEPT-02 and so on. DEPT is just a sort code for the departement, for example finance departement would be something like FIN-01 and next will be FIN-02 and so on. How can i automate this? Can someone help me out?
  10. Hi Guys, I couldn't find anything about this and I'm wondering if this is even possible. We have a DHCP server where we have all of our reservations. Is it possible to make the hostname of the computer/laptop I'm imaging based on the reservation name in DHCP? For example we have a reservation called PC-0191 and during imaging process we want to give it this computername. Thanks in advance
