  1. The package deployments are stored in SMS_ClassicDeploymentAssetDetails.
  2. Have a look at the SMSProv.log for some more information about the actions that it's trying to perform.
  3. That's correct. I think it's just an example to show the concept. You can even leave that variable empty to make it show a dialog box for entering a user name. For some more ideas see: http://www.petervanderwoude.nl/post/different-methods-to-set-the-user-device-affinity-for-usage-during-and-after-a-task-sequence-in-configmgr-2012/
  4. Once you've created search criteria you can save them and reuse them the next time.
  5. Looking at the versions, it looks like the MP is never upgraded...
  6. Did you also install KB2720211 and KB2734608?
  7. You mean you want to trigger a hardware inventory for a specific device? In that case have a look at third-party right-click tools.
  8. Please be a bit more specific.
  9. Please have a look at the smsts log file for more detailed information.
  10. Re-distribute the boot image, which will "re-create" the boot image, and you should be fine.
  11. If the applications are installed based on collection membership, then you can do something like this: http://www.petervanderwoude.nl/post/install-computer-targeted-application-during-os-deployment-via-powershell-and-configmgr-2012/
  12. Works as designed, because a client can only be assigned to a primary site.
  13. Yes, I understand There must be somebody out here that designed a network before.
  14. The thing with SQL is that they usually deliver CU's. Those CU's are indeed not delivered through WSUS.
  15. In that case, I can't help you with deciding which hardware you would need for your network as it's simply not my cup-of-tea...
  16. You don't want a software update point on every location, as you can't define at which software update point the client will look. The distribution point will take care of the content handling for the updates.
  17. Keep in mind that software inventory is actually just a file inventory... To configure software metering, see: https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh524809.aspx
  18. What other SQL updates are you expecting?
  19. Do you mean that there is no connection between the two offices, yet, and you still have to build the infrastructure at those offices?
  20. You should see something registered in the _tcp node in the DNS console.
  21. Don't go for a CAS! You should only think about using a CAS when you've got more than a 100k of clients to manage.
  22. What about them? What are you planning to build and what does your network look like?
  23. Duplicate post: http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?/topic/11974-remote-distribution-point-or-member-server/
  24. It all depends on the numbers of the speed, the clients, etc., but probably you would need at least a distribution point.
