You don't want a software update point on every location, as you can't define at which software update point the client will look. The distribution point will take care of the content handling for the updates.

Do you mean that there is no connection between the two offices, yet, and you still have to build the infrastructure at those offices?

You should see something registered in the _tcp node in the DNS console.

Don't go for a CAS! You should only think about using a CAS when you've got more than a 100k of clients to manage.

It all depends on the numbers of the speed, the clients, etc., but probably you would need at least a distribution point.
