The software change returned error code 0x407(1031)
Peter van der Woude replied to Tay's topic in Configuration Manager 2012
I see you're trying to install Adobe Flash... The installation logs of that may even give some more information, they can be found C:\Windows\system32\Macromed\Flash\FlashInstall.log (on 32-bit system). -
SCCM SP1 and Linux Client Installation
Peter van der Woude replied to Oneone's topic in Configuration Manager 2012
Correct, it's a separate download. The up-to-date link can be found in the Configuration Manager 2012 SP1 Setup -splashscreen, on the left bottom it ays Download clients for additional operating systems. The link is http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=34609 and as far as I can see it's still the BETA version. -

SCCM 2012 sp1 migration to CAS hierarchy
Peter van der Woude replied to Xandor's topic in Configuration Manager 2012
If you are searching for a way to connect the stand-alone primary to the hierarchy of the CAS with a primary than the answer is, that is NOT possible. This can only be used when you have a stand-alone primary and you want to extend it with a CAS above it. -
Unable to deploy software firefox SCCM 2007 R3
Peter van der Woude replied to andy_aus's topic in Configuration Manager 2007
There is no functional requirement to add the site server account to the local administrators of a client... The clients use the network access account (is that configured?) to access the distribution point and use the local SYSTEM account to run an installation. -

Unable to deploy software firefox SCCM 2007 R3
Peter van der Woude replied to andy_aus's topic in Configuration Manager 2007
That's usually a problem with either the source files being available or an incorrect command line. What other messages are shown in the log, around the error? -

OSD / Dell Utility Partition
Peter van der Woude replied to bokfon's topic in Configuration Manager 2012
Let's start with that I would try to search for a different solution to get the diagnostic tools available to my techs. When that's not an option I might be possible by not using a Format and Partition Disk -step. This way the disk won't be re-formatted and only be wiped. Just make sure then to apply the image to the correct partition... -
Migrate folders and ignore extensions exclusions
Peter van der Woude replied to kornboy82's question in USMT
You should be able to work something like that out, but NOT with an unconditionalExclude. Take a look here for some more information about conflicts and precedence in those XML files. -
Servers not showing in any collections
Peter van der Woude replied to wanderer's topic in Configuration Manager 2007
That's weird, their is no difference in client OS during discoveries... Did you check the adsysdis.log for any errors? -
Servers not showing in any collections
Peter van der Woude replied to wanderer's topic in Configuration Manager 2007
So only system from the Computers OU are in SCCM? If so, then you need to check the configuration of the AD System Discoveries. -
Nightly Reboot using bat file
Peter van der Woude replied to Jrgenius's question in System Center Operations Manager
I would always do something like that together with Maintenance Windows, that way you don't have "real" problems if the task missed once and/ or wants to retry. Besides that I think that the old-school task scheduler, together with GPP, has better predictable behavior for something like this... -
Deploying Symantec Endpoint Protection with Task Sequence
Peter van der Woude replied to DizzleSizzle's question in How do I ?
Why the exit /b 0? By doing that you will fool your results... because it will always return a success... -
Task Sequence Fails - 3 Steps
Peter van der Woude replied to P.Keen's topic in Configuration Manager 2012
By using psexec you can simulate the behavior of SCCM, as it performs its actions as the system account. The commandline is a standard uninstall string for some MSI. -

I can't think of any reason why you should go for scenario 1....
