  1. No official statements yet.
  2. A MP doesn't use Dynamic RPC ports. Take a look here for all the ports: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh427328.aspx#BKMK_NonConfigurablePorts
  3. It's available only for Applications, but an executable can also be run as an Application.
  4. Good luck! And remember an Ip range (boundary) should only be connected to one Site!
  5. In the properties of the application and then the tab Application Catalog.
  6. Nope, it should write it almost immediately to the Active Directory.
  7. That the best and, in my opinion, the only way to be in control during a migration.
  8. You should be careful during a migration situation. As long as both sites are-up-and-running make sure that a boundary is only connected to one site. The best way is indeed by using IP-ranges, but then you still have to make sure that the specific IP-range does not exist in an AD Site boundary of the other site. The biggest problem with overlapping is unpredictable client behavior, which means as much as, it could work once and then ten times not...
  9. Also the documentation states the support for Windows XP, even with SP1: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg682077.aspx
  10. No it doesn't matter that it is still running, the problem is that the boundaries are connected to both sites.
  11. You definitely have a boundary issue... that log and XML shows that you configured the same boundaries for both Sites, so they are all overlapping...
  12. That can be done with the Rerun behavior (Properties of the Deployment and then the tab Scheduling).
  13. Finally somebody with some Dutch errors Did you check the WindowsUpdate.log for some error details?
  14. Do you have multiple sites published in AD?
  15. For the third time today, and I still mean it, congratz! Very well deserved!
  16. It's about whether or not you want to capture the users local data, like my documents, or my pictures, or the Outlook settings, etc. For or the default things, take a look here: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/dd560792(v=ws.10).aspx
  17. Why did you delete the Unknown Computer object? You need that object to be able to deploy to unknown computers.
  18. It will work, but I would use the new application model in ConfigMgr 2012 and do something like this: http://blogs.technet.com/b/meamcs/archive/2012/05/08/deploy-office-2010-using-system-center-2012-configuration-manager.aspx
  19. That's caused by the download settings of your advertisement.. see here for and explanation: http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?/topic/2758-how-can-i-copy-files-from-a-package/
  20. Nope, you just crushed all the options...
  21. Why not just use the same WMI query as you use for the driver package for that specific model.
  22. Well, I would never call it a good solution... but in your case, and the mess you're in, is probably the best work-around....
  23. AFAIK you will always need a NetBIOS or FQDN... You could try another dirty way, if the networking guys are really that messy and stubborn, by adding the machines to the hostfile
