  1. SCCM uses the SYSTEM account to perform it's actions and the SYSTEM account is not "under control" by UAC. So just test your batch file with the sysinternal-tools as a SYSTEM account.
  2. When you run a RSOP on that machine, does it still say something about the update location? Also what update location is show in the windowsupdate.log?
  3. Take a look at the execmgr.log to see what happens during the install.
  4. It won't happen within a few minutes, because the policy refreshes don't happen that often.
  5. What kind of changes did you make and under which user?
  6. Yup, make them available direclty (properties of the deployment and then the schedule tab)
  7. Take a look at the Standalone Media: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb632784.aspx
  8. Go to the properties of the Advertisement, then the tab Interaction and then select Allow users to run the program independently of assignments. This will make the Advertisement available in RAP.
  9. I've never heard of any workaround for this...
  10. Correct, deploy them through SCCM... When you realy want those applications in your image just add them to your Task Sequence. First install the OS, then your applications and then perform your capture...
  11. Did you create a customization file, using the Office Custumization Tool? In there you can select which shortcuts you want to be created...
  12. There is a buildin maintenance task for that, see: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb632879.aspx
  13. Not possible, you always have to select a limiting collection. See also: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg682177.aspx
  14. I haven't done this myself before, but here are some links that should help: http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/configmgrsum/thread/17434089-78a2-43e5-b018-6ab869fe9dee http://windowshell.wordpress.com/2010/11/12/running-sccm-2007-software-updates-on-server-core/
  15. Happens a lot, as it's often forgotten to first remove the packages from a DP... Take a look here for a solution: http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?/topic/1703-howto-remove-orphan-distribution-points/
  16. Yes we can. The question is just if it's still the best method, for example in situations when you want to use Admin Approval.
  17. You need to do it side-by-side then... In short it comes down to: Build new server with SCCM Upgrade SMS server to SCCM Connect new server to old server Let them sync Remove the connection
  18. Correct, and you can also look into leaving some secondary sites out, as you've got more options now on controlling networktraffic on DPs
  19. Did you just add drivers to the source location of your driver package? If so, then that's why it's copying all the drivers to the DP...
  20. They can exist next to eachother, just make sure that you don't have any overlapping boundaries.
  21. It's in the client log folder (SMS_CCM\Logs) of the site server.
  22. Probably you are trying to quick after eachother, as WDS will cache the information for I thought 60 minutes. Take a look here for more information: http://scug.be/blogs/sccm/archive/2010/11/16/configmgr-2007-pxe-cache-behavior.aspx
  23. Did you also enable WebDAV? I just saw that Kaido posted a whitepaper about configuring these things: http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?/topic/4521-iis-webdav-bits-and-request-filtering-document-for-configuration-administrator/page__fromsearch__1
