  1. did you try this ? http://eskonr.com/2011/09/sla-report-for-sccm-software-distribution/ You can modify it with site specific.
  2. you have client logs like PolicyAgent.log --> Requests policies by using the Data Transfer service, execmgr.log etc.more log files, refer http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb892800.aspx distribution manager logs also avilable from above link you can refer distmgr.log
  3. can you look at report code (not infornt of sccm) if it has any asset intelligence functions ? for software metered ,check if you have enabled the software metering rules at your site ? by default they are not enabled.
  4. i dont see any issues with my SQL server name( my sccm server name has hypen(-) ) but if you are working with SQL server management studio to run some quiries, you can use server name enclosed in square bracket. You will not have any issues with respect to SCCM Server (AFAIK) ,you can look at this for more info http://p2p.wrox.com/sql-server-2000/19220-dashes-server-name-cannot-run-sql-cmd.html
  5. how do you confirm no ceritificates ? did u verified from mmc certificates or from log files ? check clientidstartupmanager log file to see if the client is registered or not.
  6. the above query should get back those computers back..... try to update the collection membership and refresh it. you should be able to boot unknown computers
  7. you will find more information from ccmsetup.log what the files are downloading and from client.msi.log
  8. what model are you running with X86 hardware ? did u check pxe log from siteserver if somehtin went wrong ?
  9. Hi, what is the point of contacting SUP and then download them directly from MS rather SCCM ? strange request... reason behind this ? SCCM with SUP give you more flexibility for tracking the updates and keep systems uptodate etc
  10. VerifyExternalFile failed: 0x80070002 means The system cannot find the file specified. ensure you have used the correct source path with right version of SCCM updates files. hash check failed happens with incorrect update files
  11. Central administration Site (CAS) is a big question mark for me. Is there any real need for it in this size of environment (2 different domain, 6000 clients)?-----Note that ,CAS cannot manage sccm client it just participate in SQL Database replication and reporting etc so you should look for Primary to manage clients. If you are planning to have multiple primary and go with only one primary (Primary can not report to another Primary only to Central) rest of all secondary and clients are lessthan 100K ,you do not need CAS (as I know). Refer this for more info http://wmug.co.uk/blogs/dotraphael/archive/2012/04/23/sccm-2012-cas-hierarchy.aspx What about server hardware.. I'm thinking to get new dedicated server with 16Gt RAM and 150gb (4x150, RAID10) for SQL/Primary site installed on same hardware. I believe there is enough performance and disk IO to run smoothly. Is it possible or recommended to install CAS for virtualized (VMWare) server, if it's recommended to install? Yes you can go with Virtual Server configuration: Dedicated server - Primary site - SQL 2008 Std, SCCM 2012 Virtualized server - Central Administration Site - SCCM 2012 Refer this http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg682077.aspx
  12. try this if that helps you http://social.techne...67-f52856bffbef and some tips from technet http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb892792.aspx?goback=%2Egde_3726656_member_56115548
  13. if you already have working secondary site and your primary site is configured as upstream server(which connects to MS and get the metadata as per the settings) then you can install WSUS console on all secondary sites ,Install SUP role ,configure it as Active SUP and configure it to sync from upstream server(Primary site) to get the patch information . for more information http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2275534 bandwidth relates issues : http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/uk/configmgrsum/thread/a0d098db-1405-41eb-b53e-ebc3463276ee
  14. try publishing the Attributes to AD since it wont cause any effects unless you have common boundaries and try it out.
  15. good that, all the depencies needed for client push installation added to the client push installation wizard
  16. did you check if the site attributes are published to AD ? did you extend schema ? what does hman.log says ? also check site published to AD forest is selected or not ? also ensure to provide full permission to system management container ....
  17. SCCM 2012 has nice feature called supersedence read more info here http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/gg682071.aspx Supercedene the old application with new one ..so when the new application is avilable ,it removes the old application and install the current one. But you will have to make the arragement for this to remove old and install new one.
  18. try this to get all computers with their last logged on user name from http://eskonr.com/2011/03/sccm-report-to-list-all-computers-based-on-last-logged-on-user-name-from-collection/ end of report you have what is needed.
  19. I would suggest to go with New Virtual machine but again if you need to explore how to upgrade from SCCM 2007 to SCCM 2012 (No inplace,Only Side by Side) have a Fresh VM with SCCM 2012 and other side, you can do upgrade part from sccm 2007. You can follow the posts available for SCCM 2012 RC2. I just done the installation of SCCM 2012 RTW,there is no changes to the installation majarily compared to RC2.

  23. through sCCM,running the script to install OS is not avilable (could be other ways to do it),why you dont u create ISO media from Task Sequence (right click on Task sequence and create media) that will crate ISO for you and use this as Bootable to install New OS(Customise the Task Sequence to format the Drive or not formate depends on the requirement).
  24. did you try restarting the server once Patches and CU are installed ? http://eskonr.com/2012/01/installation-of-configmgrsccm-2012-rc2/
  25. RAP should be avilable to non admin users as well if it is not terminal services session .
