the problem is the client doesnt understand that point !! i already told him he need to be patient and he just keep nagging like babies i did the following : 1. create the package and the collection (make sure collection is updated) 2. create the advertisment (with mandatory schedule) , i specified an exact start and end time 3. update policy by going to the clients, control panel --> conf mgr --> actions --> update machine policy and nothing HAPPENED since 30 mins , what to do

hi there im facing an issue here , when i specify ASAP to deploy firefox it takes 20-30 mins to deploy it on 3 computers , to be honest this is annoying , isnt there a way to do the deployment immediately ? thanks

hi there i maanaged to deploy last week some images , today i tried to deploy a new image but im receiving when i boot the client the following : TFTP: DOWNLOAD : SMSboot\X64\pxeboot.n12 . TFTP: DOWNLOAD : SMSboot\X64\pxeboot.n12 . TFTP: DOWNLOAD : SMSboot\X64\pxeboot.n12 . TFTP: DOWNLOAD : SMSboot\X64\pxeboot.n12 . and then it just remains like that ! , any idea whats going on please? how to troubleshoot the problem thanks

becasue its in action let me explain it more now i want to update 6 computers , during the update i want to see in live which computers received the update , whichcomputers are updating now and which computers failed for a reason isnt there a way for that ? if not then what is the best approch to see the results , you mentioned reports , which report exactly ? thanks

hi there isnt there a way to know exactly which computers have been updated from the server side say i did install for 3 windows updates to 6 computers , i want to know which 6 computers are in progress and which is completed thanks

hi there i have 3 users who will use configuration manager 2007 one will have access to only software distrbution one will have access only to OS deployment one will have access only to software updates how can i specify the roles for each user please specify for me the exact permissions to give for each user thanks

now all those can be done from the console itself , as from the link you sent it shows customization to the xml files itself i want it to be basic and simple as one of my clients will have to do that not me another thing is how to install the console on several computers ? thanks

hi after doing a sucessfull deployment , that is after capturing using the capture media , i had the following ( im following the guides of anyweb, and sorry for not pulling smsts.log although it didnt show anything weird ! ) i had after deplyoing : 1) 2 partitions , as i specified in the TS 2) the name specified in the computer assiociation step 3) all the progs that i took in the capture step ! 4) SCCM client installed succesfully ! my prob is it didnt join the computer to the domain , although i didnt see any errors nor warnings in the logs , what happened do you think , note that i captured the image when the comp was joined to workgroup ( actually you cant capture the image when you are joined to domain , it gave me a warning message ) any idea what happened , am i missing something ? thanks

anyweb i think you need to update the topic PART 6 for deploying windows vista as i faced this error Content location request for WIN00018:3 failed. (Code 0x80040102) followed by Failed to resolve selected task sequence dependencies. Code(0x80040102) and i discovered that you need to create a distribution point and update it for the captured image that is added in the SCCM console
