Any update to this? We are on SP2 CU1. I've noticed the step isn't working anymore.

CU2 just got released it may fix this for you https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3100144 Applications will not install when you use them with a dynamic variable list in a task sequence if no SMB package share was defined for the content. This affects only installations that use a dynamic variable list. Other installation methods are unaffected. Errors that resemble the following are recorded in the Smsts.log file on the client: No Http location found Failed to download content for SMS package PRI00080, hr=0x80004005 Install Dynamic software action failed to resolve content for packageID: 'PRI00080', programID: 'TestApp'. Error Code 0x80004005

OSD domain join in a non trusted / cross forest domain

Check C:\Windows\debug\NetSetup.log Also OSD won't move an existing object, you will need to provide a script to do that. -
OSD task Sequence not being update
jay replied to aarnold@sd68.bc.ca's topic in Configuration Manager 2012
After updating the package have you done a machine policy update on the client? -
Seems a bit more complicated than needed (the serviceui part). From memory IE shortcut is missing because it's created for that user during login. 1. Copy the shortcut to ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs then pin it. 2. copy that shortcut to your startlayout package. 3. In the start layout package have a powershell script: Copy-Item '.\Internet Explorer.lnk' -Destination "$env:ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs" Import-StartLayout -LayoutPath .\Startlayout.xml -MountPath $env:SystemDrive\ 4. In task sequence use 'Run powershell script' with setting bypass and reference your package.
