  1. Ok got it to work. That was the issue. That specific installation does not like UNC. Instructed the TS advertisment to download files and then install. Bad thing it requires the double time to do that but its ok i guess Niall, have you got any idea about this ? http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?/topic/624-configuring-software-update-point-within-sccm/page__view__findpost__p__7384
  2. Hi niall. I remembered last night that the specific installation was causing me problems installing from a network location and on the software installation TS when i advertised it i had it to download locally and then run. Can i do that on an OSD TS ?
  3. I am facing the below problem; I have build and captured a win 7 image.I then created a default TS for deploying the image by using the guides. The task was working fine. Then i decided to add some softwares as below All 3 of them are used on a different task sequence for installation, which works great (all are system unattended and have no dialog boxes display) The problem is with the first one Lotus Notes Client that i get the below error From TS status report and from advertisment status report Command line for the unattend install is: msiexec.exe /q ALLUSERS=2 /m MSIGJJMG /i "Lotus Notes 8.0.2.msi" TRANSFORMS="Lotus Notes 8.0.2.mst"
  4. put this in front of the command %~dp0. it will add the unc location for you For example if you have to run a test.exe from a cmd line and want to use UNC you can type %~dp0test.exe and it will call it \\QE-SCMAN01.SLHT.SLH.NHS.UK\SMSPKGF$\SLH00045\test.exe taking from your logs This way it works very well with multiple DP as it will change the current location for you
  5. I dont think you can with SCCM 2007. Check this post
  6. Hello. By issueing hardware inventory on the client? Follow this guide.
  7. Hello and welcome. What does the advertisement report say? Have you checked it? Open your SCCM console go to System Status, Advertisment status, double click on your advertisment and on the right scren do a right click show messages
  8. Do you have the advertisment to run from distribution point or do you have it to download and run locally? If you go on the client computer to C:\windows\system32\ccm\cache do you see the package there? Maybe you are not allowed due to low post count and since these are pictures from windows-noob.com so it might not count.
  9. This is something that works on SCCM. dont know if you can use it for WDS as well Modify your SCCM's registry as follow Location: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\SMS\PXE Name: RamDiskTFTPBlockSize TYPE: REG_DWORD Value:4000 (Hex) It will speed up the TFTP transfer of the Ram drive boot image when booting Follow this quide for WDS settings http://www.idi.ntnu.no/~jang/dokument/WDSupdate/Individual%20Chapters/_Chapter%207%20-%20Working%20with%20Images.htm
  10. It looks like it cant find the program on a distribution point. Have you create and updated your distribution points with the new package? Check under distribution points if you see your distribution point and under package status to check if its installed correctly. Afterward you can update it. Let me know how it goes
  11. Hello. how can i change the products and classification of the updates? I tried change them through the software update component and issue a WSUS cleanup from that console but i keep on seeing for example Office 2002 although i have removed it from that product list and also on the wsus.log i can still see the initial classifications that i selected. I tried changing it also through WSUS console but no luck. Any ideas?
  12. Try setting it to Not configured to see if it makes any difference
  13. It looks like you are throttling your BITS. What do you have under this? Go to Site Management >Server > Site Settings > Client Agents > Computer Client Agent
  14. If you open your IIS you will see on the sites a CCM_Client folder which is the location of the client installation files. You need to create it under it. Most probable the folder CCM_Client on IIS is mapped to C:\Program Files\Microsoft Configuration Manager\Client (dont have my server in front of me right now) Check it and if you cant find it ill post tomorrow morning the path
  15. Hello, Try creating an empty ClientPatch folder. Mine was looking for this folder and i think it was delaying as well. For the 00000409 folder i just ignore it. Usually the installation takes 20 minutes or less. Hope it helps
  16. Hello. Does SCCM supports multiple DPs in a single protected site and to be able to kinda load balance it? I have 4 sites each being protected, and on the first one i have a DP plus the SCCM server. When i distribute a software from that site only SCCM server works as a DP. Any idea if SCCM has this option?
  17. Keep up the good work Niall
  18. Yes Outlook can be deploy using the OCT
  19. If the driver is visible on Add/Remove Program there is a way to create a collection with the computers that do not have that application. Does this help?
  20. Have you installed SP2? Is this an update or a fresh setup? Follow this post from anyweb updating SCCM 2007 SP2 And this Upgrading ConfigMgr client after Service Pack upgrade
  21. 1) yes thats the correct location for SP2 there is an integration setup as well for your dvd collection (SCCM 2007 with SP2) 2) yes. follow this link http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?/topic/1360-updating-sccm-2007-sp2-rc-or-beta-to-sp2-final/ 3) yes. just install the R2 pack!
  22. The account used for the client push (not the one that SCCM server is logged on) is a domain Admin. On a desperate measure i deleted all the computer objects not having the Site Code from the database. Run the AD system discovery and got 1028 out of the 1048 and only one without a site code!! Most probable the 20 have been deleted from the AD since i haven't configured yet the clear flag to delete inactive computers. Now i have 880 computers out of 1028 that have site code but they report as client no. Lastly i ran the report about duplicate computer GUIDs and got alot of records!! Maybe due to old SMS client being installed on the computer image? Does this have something to do with the fact that the computer do not get approved, cause of corrupted records due to GUIDs? The computer that i have next to me had a duplicate GUID and i used the regenerate GUID tool, but still i see client NO. Maybe it needs some time? ***** Computer has been discovered from heartbeat.. Client Yes :D ***** Lastly, if i delete the records, will they get a new GUID? Or it will be better to run a batch to change the GUID and restart the SMS host service? Thanks all in advance
  23. Update: I have run the Assign Site script on a collection and manage to get the clients up to 148. (looks like some of them where looking for the SMS server) But i have ~500 computers with no Site assign, although i have connected on some of them and checked the clientlocation log and the location and both have the correct site code and MP... Today i had a computer next to me, done a install client from the right click tools and still i dont get the site code on the SCCM. (have initiated the discoveries on the computer and the logs where created on the machine) Any help ?
