I Got it solved, removed the Auto Apply Drivers and re-checked the Scope Options. I got an IP Address, nslookup wasn't supported as a command... My Client is continuing with Formatting, installing the Capture.wim to the right partition, Applies NW- and Device Settings and Sets up the windows and ConfigMgr. it reboots several times in between. After having installed devices and applying system settings, it fails durich checking of video performance: "Windows could nit parse or process unattend answer file [C:\Windows\Panther\Unattend\unattend.xml]" for pass [oobeSystem]... while processing settings for component [Microsoft-Windows-Shell-Setup]." I checked the .xml and saw, that I had forgotten to correctly write %SYSTEMDRIVE%\Program Files in the Program Data of UserDirectory. After having changed it, still the same error message with same source. My .xml is not in the ...Panther... Folder! shall I move my .xml to there and change its name? Sorry. Shall I start a new topic? thanks niall

Well I 've added the Option 005 and 006 in my DHCP Scope, checked the Network Access Account in Client Agents, checked if Spanning Tree is enabled on the Switch, Traced with Wire Shark and finally got one step futrher. It is now loading the Drivers from the Auto Apply Drivers Step from the TS IN ADDITION WITH THE TASK SEQUENCE ERROR WINDOW saying: Task Sequence: ... failed with error code 0x80004005. ...please contat system administrator! and smsts.log failes with GetHostByName with error code: 0x80072ee7 ipconfig has now the right IP Address of the DNS Server When removing the Auto Apply Driver Step from the TS it is interrupted as allready mentioned above. smsts.log is still saying, that it failes with GetHostByName with error code: 0x80072ee7 isn't it enough to have got the nw-drivers mounted in the boot image? thanks anna

All my Computers are interrupted the same way! Error. REceivved 0x80072ee7!!! getHostByName Failed... In the Beginning the Computer gets an IP Address. Do I have to add an Add Driver Package before the Auto Apply Drivers? Does the autoapply happen before the "restart in Windows PE" Step of the TS? The Drivers are now well akknowledged in the Boot Image What am I doing wrong?
-
I will add an auto apply drivers step after restert in WinPE. I've allready added several nw drivers to the boot image, though. probably it was the drivers.. but isn't it enough to only add them to the boot image??? Will try to figure it out

By the way. This is about a deploy 7 TS, not a capture or build... The Target Computer is a baremetal, so I can't configure DNS in Network Adapter Settings. Where else do I configure DNS in a TS or Unattend.xml besides the Domain Joining in the TS? has anyone got an idea? Thanks a lot, I'm struggling with this since months...

Hi everyone My Client starts the TS and when trying to load NW-Drivers it is interrupted! My Log File sais: - Failed to get Client Identity ....HRESULT: 80072ee7 - sending with winhttp failed...failed to send the request - ClibSMSMessageWinHttpTransport::Send: URL: SCCM-TEST.SERVICE.TEST:80....Error. Received 0x80072ee7 from WinHttpSendRequest... When I open the command prompt on the client and type ipconfig /all there's a strange DNS IP Address (looks like IPv6) has anyone had a similar issue? My drivers should be the right ones and are updated on DPs. But anyways, it doesn't look like a Driver-problem... My DNS Server and the DHCP Server haven't got the same names...should it be??? Any ideas?

- what does the \boot\x86\wdsnbp.com path mean¨? and to what File does it referr to? I need to wright an exact documentation about this... -Do I have to change the path for 64bit OS manually on the DHCP-Scope Options to deploy 64Bit?
-
hi Anyweb I'll do that. Thanks for your reply...

Hi all I've successfully captured my custom Windows 7 32Bit reference machine. Now I'm trying to deploy it on a physical machine. Is it going to deploy the partitions, Userprofiles etc as i captured it or do i have to redo this in MDT and SIM? So i ipmorted the the captured image into MDT and created a TS. When i try to edit the Unattend.xml file i'ts unable to generate or locate the catalogue file. Unfortunately I'm talking about my CAPTURED image, which I can't move to the source folder of the OS-InstallPackage. 1: How can i edit my Captured .wim for mapping drives, configuring IE and so on... 2: PX:E53 Error (no Bootfile Name) when deploying the TS with the Captured Image to my machine. PXE Service Point is on SCCM, WDS is configured with check on DHC-Option "Do not listen on port 67" and my DHCP (which is not on the same machine as WDS and SCCM) has got no ScopeOptions concerning the Options 60, 66 or 67. Any Ideas? or any .xml Files of zero touch installations i can have a look at? thanks Anna

Oh! My! God! I don't know what I did wrong. I just can't run the advertised program on the reference! the ccmsetup.log says: <![LOG[Can't connect to or retrieve file: http://WINSRV2008R2.SERVICE.TEST/CCM_Client/ccmsetup.cab. Will attempt a retry...]LOG]! and other things like "failed to send HTTP request" I properly configured the DHCP and DNS with forwarders and reverses. I dont get it why my reference tries to download from the WINSRV2008R2 (DHCP, AD DS and DNS) machine, while the SCCM with the PSP (and WDS) is on another machine. when I replace that server with the SCCM server it sais Server Error 500 (Problem with the resources) and I also followed this thread with Updating and everything.(but it's an one-year-old one) My hair is growing grey (well, i find it attracitve but still...) Is there anything particular with the DHCP or DNS to configure? I'll continue on this issue this evening, need a brake
-
OK. I do not find any "run advertised programs" on my W7. on the "intsall a program from the network" the table has no items in it. I probably have to add this reference machine's identity with a file to "inventory" it by SMS (I acutally created it with the MAC-Adress) I'll google this and hopefully I'll sort it out. THANKS a lot again Niall greetings to Sweden...

Sorry Nial but I am starting to get a bit confused... I don't have to run the ccmsetup.exe? Where Do I find the RAP? on the reference? The Capture TS got the autologin_enable Program allready involved in the Autologin via registry Task I hope the automagicle .xml will do its magic
-
So I shut down and PXE-boot the reference. right? Even though the ccmsetup.exe is running. I just don't want to do any mistakes at this stage!
-
----allright--- Just one more question (because I can't handle it, doing things without knowing why...) The registry entries, that we have to change into our own Admin Password, are they in the regedit of the SCCM machine? I see you used a Windows registry Editor. The DefaultUserName and -Password have to be added manually in the Winlogon registry? THANKS SOOO MUCH Niall!!!

I managed to install the Client through the AllSystems-Collection. The ccmsetup.exe showed up on the reference machine. I had to adjust Firewall Rules (spezially allow the program WMI, File and Printer Sharing and to open the ports 80 and 443) and recreate the reference machine through Computer Association (because I used an Alias Name in SCCM instead of the effective Computer Name of the reference). The only thing is that on the Capture and Build-Collection the Client tab still says NO and I don't know how to find the ConfMgr Client on the reference machine. But still, I guess it worked... How do I deploy your modified TS to capture and sysprep the reference now?
-
Firewall is temporarily off. Added the Account needed. But doesnt work. Do I have to add some spezial Installation Properties in the Client-Tab of the Client Push Installation Properties?
-
I see my reference in AllSystems and also in the Build and Capture Collection. But the Client Collum says NO. I ran the Install-Client Wizard but couldn't see the ccmsetup.exe on my reference machine...

It does look like i need help here.. I have one vm with winows 7 and apps installed working well, which i want to capture -YES. where do i get the client from? If I understood it right it was generated in SCCM. Can I get the Client as a file through the network? The X86 boot image is in my computer management. assigned to both, the server and the smspxe-Distribution Points. But I guess I don't get the "Package"-Philosophy right.
-
Actually I fail with the Boot Manager, saying that it doesnt contain a vaild OS entry... \Boot\BCD My problem is that I can't find the smsts.log. is it on the reference machine? NOT ON MINE... Another problem i guess is that I changed the registry entries on the Winlogon. but wasn't sure on which machine. I did it on the SCCM/WDS machine. What do you mean by: "you will have to supply it with two packages namely your X86 boot image and a new package called AutoLogin_windows7"? Right now i am not sure if I should create a TS that build-n-captures or only captures. thanks Niall

I've tried the modified xml of Anyweb's but didnt work out. after having run sysprep in OOBE and Shut down Mode I should capture the reference machine. My question: Are there any spezial modifications (beside the workgourp joining and the blank Admin Password) in the TS to capture an allready setup windows 7 OS with Applications in it? Do I have to install the ConfigMgr Client on the reference machine to capture it? Would be grateful for any inputs here... Greeaz Anna
-
so just to get it right: I configure my reference, run the sysprep in shut-down mode and then boot the reference from Network to start the capture Task-Sequence created in SCCM?
-
Hi Niall I deleted my vm and right now I am building a Reference Machine so I can capture it. Due to lack of virtual disk-space on our esx-server, I had to delete it to go ahead. But I allready had gone through these steps of clearing last PXE-Adds and re-creating a new client... Hope it will work for the capture. Is it true that windows 7 machines aren't sysprepped? cheers Anna

Just after the the boot file has been loaded, the customized backgroung image and the TS appears saying "Windows is starting up". After that i can recognize very quickly, that it tries to Set Up Network and then the PXE is aborted. What is the problem? I have added NIC drivers from Intel as suggested on this site and allready postet a question on Anywebs explanation to NIC drivers here Finally my client sais again "Contacting Server <IP> (Gateway 0.0.0.0)" which is not true, it is set to 192.168.200.1 and "Pending Request ID: 30" as well as further down: "TFTP Download: smsboot\x86\abortpxe.com" I receive an IP from the DHCP which is running on another server than the SCCM and WDS. the BootFile is also downloaded. All the needed Folders are Shares. I have added an AutoAplyDrivers AND an ApplyDrivers in the TS which are set to "Install all compatible drivers" as well as "Do unattended installation..." Is it the boot image generated from SCCM? (it is finalized and contains the needed drivers. Not done with DISM but by updating the DP). In the boot imagePackage sequence i also added both, the SMSPXE and the <SERVERName>-Distribution Points. Is it the TS? (PS: I have also CLeared the last PXE Advertisements) Any Ideas? (the smsts.log can't be read cause I'm BUILD-AND-CAPTURING from a BareMetal) cheers A.

But the thing about the "reference machine" is making me struggling through google once again
