Hi Niall thanks for bearing a hand. I've managed to solve it: The WDS is on the same server as the SCCM and Pre-requisites. anyways, I had to switch User, took the SMSadmin-account from the AD-DS, which is on the other server, to add a WDS-Server. It worked. What do you mean by PSP (Play Station Portable?)?? I have IIS, WDS and WSUS on the same server... Now I'm trying to create an MDT-TaskSequence (TS). MDT is Integrated of course but the Wizard for creating MDT-TS aborts all the time. I'm just not sure of one thing: the reference computer has allready to be set up for a capture or does the TS take place for a Zero-Touch-Installation of Windwos 7 instead? I know, should probably restart a new topic here, but for all my tiny questions??? thanks a lot for your guy's concernes...

Hi Peter thanks for your reply. Another question: the PXE doesnt work, because it lacks the wds on the same machine! But I can't install the wds (add server) on another machine then the dhcp. And in the other hand I can't deploy or capture without having wds on the same machine as sccm. I have startet the "WinHTTP Web Proxy Auto Discover"- service on the DHCP Machine, I have followed the suggestions from these guys and I just wonder why Microsoft (spezially Technet) isn't able to explain theyr products properly!!! I'm running out of time while reading and reading... My ZTI Deployment MUST work in less than 3 Weeks (for my final presentation in the apprentis-ship). this is harassing me I am greatfull for any inputs. if someone has had or heard of the same problem before thanks A.

Am I gettin it right? To capture a Windows 7 do I need a Baremetal or an allready setup client to capture it? I can't read the smsts.log file on a "baremetal machine"!!! And spezially: has the WDS to run on the same machine like the SCCM? because my PXESetup sais: <04-06-2010 13:02:11> SMSPXE Setup Started.... <04-06-2010 13:02:11> Parameters: C:\PROGRA~1\MICROS~2\bin\i386\ROLESE~1.EXE /install /siteserver:SCCM-TEST SMSPXE <04-06-2010 13:02:11> Installing Pre Reqs for SMSPXE <04-06-2010 13:02:11> ======== Installing Pre Reqs for Role SMSPXE ======== <04-06-2010 13:02:11> Found 1 Pre Reqs for Role SMSPXE <04-06-2010 13:02:11> Pre Req MSXML60 found. <04-06-2010 13:02:11> No versions of MSXML60 are installed. I read almost all the topics in this forum (in others aswell) and it's getting veeeery itchy now... any help please? thanks and cheeers A.

Hi all, Again, after having reinstalled WDS I got this message on the client: PXE-E52: No DHCP or proxyDHCP offers were received... I have my DHCP well configured. SCCM working on one vm, WDS, DHCP, DNS and AD DS on another. I have also followed In SCCM I have configured a PXE Role, on the DHCP-Server have moved the PXE-Client. What is the prob? no logs for that scenario in smspxe.log the DhcpServerLog sais: ... 00,04/06/10,13:33:38,Started,,,,,0,6,,, 55,04/06/10,13:33:38,Authorized(servicing),,service.test,,,0,6,,, I use the SCCM 2007 SP2 on a Windows Server 2008R2 trying to deploy Windows 7 untattended. Another problem appeared before, when it hardly worked: after showing the background imge involved in the boot.wim the connection is lost! After having added Drivers and Driver Packages (Intel PRO Network Adapter) from this link still no changes. I'm beginning to be desperate! Any help or ideas please? Cheers A.

Hi Niall, hi folks Very interesting post... Trying to manage a ZTI of Windows 7 on VM Baremetal and HW-Baremetal (32Bit and 64Bit), I am searching for the right NIC Driver for WM ESX (Adapter E 1000)and wondering: 1. Do I only need to add the .inf Files to the boot images (what about the cab and other Files)? 2. I added a .exe File to my SCCM2007 SP2 that's supposed to include the NIC driver from Intel: Network Adapter Driver for Windows Vista on Intel Site which is supposed to be esx compatible as this guide says. But these are Applications and no .infs. how do i get the infs (if really needed) out of the application instead of running it? 3. Aren't there drivers in the Windows 7 .iso Files? 4. In the "How can I deploy Windows Vista"-Section you are mentioning an SMSInstall account. Is it aequivalent to the SMSread or SMSadmin Account we had to create for Windows 7 Deployment? I managed to boot the Client (for taking a capture) but the TS fails after "Initializing Windows PE" and "Running: Build and Capture Windows 7". I know, lots of questions but I would be VEEEEEERY thankfull for any explanations here....Or eiven better a link to successfully installed and used NIC Drivers for the TS not to fail. wish a nice and sunny week-end Anna

Hi Anyweb Thanks for your reply. I find your knowlegde and your passion for this forum is incredible! I'll now prepare the SCCM, SQL and MDT on a different Server. The boot images in the mentioned folder were no in there... I pasted the finalized ones in the i386 Folder. Let's see how it is, after having reinstalled SCCM. Greetings to Sweden and enjoy Anna

Hi all. First of all I am veeery happy having found this forum! Congrats to all!! I have had a Windows Server 2008 R2 with SCCM, MDT and WDS (as well as DHCP, AD DS and so on). Having managed to install all of these components I'm not able to add Boot Images! Allthough they have been finalized. Meanwhile the SCCM is corrupt and i have to restart installing the whole thing. My first question: Is it better to install the SCCM, MDT and SQL on Server 1 and AD DS, DNS, DHCP on Server 2 or doesn't it make any difference? Because I'm always asked for an UNC-Path for getting the install- and boot.wims into SCCM. second question: Are the boot images created or saved by default in \\Server\Share\OSD\boot\i386? Or can I store them in another Share? My goal is a Zero-Touch-Installation of Windows 7 Enterprise on a VM in a Testlab. Any suggestions/help? Cheers Anna
