  1. Hi All, Is there a sample TS I can import for hardlinking? Is the process different for SCCM 2012? I see when you want to import it looks for a .zip file and not a xml file. Thanks guys
  2. Hi All, We have some workgroup clients, with the same hostname, natt'ed IP addresses. I now need to determine which machine is where. A script has been created to populate the computer description field. Can I run a report that will return the hostname, model, hd size, memory serial numbers as well as the computer description. The report I have returns all the values Except the Computer Description. Thanks in advance Carlo

    SCCM 3.01

Ooh my bad Niall, dunno where that came from :-) I think thats the part that probably I cant make sense of. I have created a seperate task sequence to do the restore. But how will SCCM know to restore the state from \\SMP\STATESTORE\SMPSTORED_0742CEA7$\87DFABA033149165A7800ECAA6F4E2108EEC65737D6B47A912BFCB3D60893DC2 to the already built machine LAPTOP1. Is that the Source and Destination computer comes into play? Do I create the association there and then run the madatory state restore task sequence. sorry for the noob question, but I have tried to search around for an easier answer. Carlo

Thanks Andy, If the new machine is built already and I want to restore a previously captured state. I have managed to run the loadstate manually on the new machine successfully. Is there a simpler automated way to do this?

    SCCM 3.01

Hi All, I am struggling to understand the logic for the New Machine upgrade. User wants a new machine with his data from the previous machine. I created a collection to do the scanstate.Once the scanstate is done, the loadstate is run to restore the data. This is done as 2 seperate advertisements. Is there an easier method for me to do this? I went thru the noob guide, but I am sure I am missing something simple. Please help USMT runs thru fine when Rgds C
