  1. Advertisement time is 8/10/2010 11:20 am Assignment: As soon as possible Enable wake on LAN: Not checked Ignore maintenance windows when running program: Not checked Allow system restart outside maintenance windows: Not checked Priority: High Program rerun behavior: Rerun if failed previous attempt
  2. Can I deploy a program that uses a batch file for installation? The batch file calls the installer but also deletes some shortcuts, adds a new shortcut and registers a component. Is this at all possible to do? Is there a better way to do all of this?
  3. I am trying to test the distribution of program in SCCM. My test program is Adobe Reader. I've deployed the package and advertised it. If I run the report "All advertisements for a specific package" and drill down, I see that the computer accepted the program at 1:25:15 PM and was "waiting" at 1:25:16 PM. That was almost 55 minutes ago. The link between the server and client is 1 gig so the network shouldn't be a bottle neck. I would have thought that the deployment would be a lot faster than this. Should it take this long (and longer since it hasn't installed yet) to install programs? Is there any way to speed it up?
  4. Thanks for the link but I don't see where it explains the best way to do an upgrade... Do I just create a new deployment package and send it out that way?
  5. What is the best way to upgrade software with SCCM? Lets say my computers have an old version of Adobe Reader that I installed with SCCM (say 9.3.0) and now I want to update them all to the newest version (9.3.3). Any suggestions on the best way to do this?
  6. When I try to run a report, I get prompted for a username and password and then get an http error 404.3 - Not Found error. Any ideas?
  7. How do I get the reports?
  8. I have all of the WSUS servers because each site is connected to the main site by various speed connections (most are T1 speeds) and it is a lot quicker and less painful to have computers at each site download updates from a local server.
  9. I'm setting up SCCM for testing right now and have a few questions. I followed the guide http://www.windows-noob.com/forums/index.php?/topic/1064-sccm-2007-guides/ First off, under "Software Distribution", it is showing the application has been advertised to 3 computers, 1 hasn't been started and 2 are waiting. I know it has installed on 1 of the computers though. Why doesn't it say that one was installed? Why are there still 2 "waiting"? We currently use Group Policy to install software and have DFS set up to replicate the software to our remote sites (which we have 11 of, all with various connection speeds and types) I.E. Group policy is set to install the software from \\<domain>\software\ so that each location installs from the local copy and not over the slow site link. Is there a way that I can have SCCM continue to use my DFS share for software distribution? Would I set up a SCCM server at each location?
  10. I currently have WSUS at my work. I have my main WSUS server and 11 downstream replica servers at remote sites. I am now testing SCCM to see if it will work better than our current system for deploying software and imaging computers. I would also like to integrate WSUS with it. Here's my question... Would I still need all of my WSUS servers or could I get rid of all but one?
