SCCM Client R3 Installation Issues
Mr.G replied to breakeleven's topic in Configuration Manager 2007
Yes...i looked at my thread. It is still not resolved. I am waiting for Microsoft to call me back today to assist on the client issues of not being .2157 Hopefully they can help, they say that once R3 is installed that the client should automatically be pushed down. G -
SCCM Troubles - R3 installation not working...
Mr.G replied to Mr.G's topic in Configuration Manager 2007
Support call open with Microsoft. I've had some help in installing the KB article 977384 and found that I'd made a mistake by not un-installing it before re-installing it. The files were not copied and corruption had occurred leading to a NOT_FOUND when installing the KB article. I will be working with Microsoft to figure out why my clients report .2000 version and not .2157 as they should. Little help in terms of actually pointing to the root of the problem has been given from the forum so I resorted to opening a support call with Microsoft. Will update the thread when I have a resolution. G -
SCCM Client R3 Installation Issues
Mr.G replied to breakeleven's topic in Configuration Manager 2007
I'll be honest with you i've found that SCCM is not that easy to setup and to get working as it should be. I have a support call open with microsoft at the moment and i've managed to install SCCM 2007 R2 then the KB977384 article and finally R3. Console shows as R3 installed but the clients are not showing as .2157 as they should. It's very frustrating as I really don't have much of a clue on where to start looking to resolve this problem. SCCM Troubles - R3 installation not working...
Mr.G replied to Mr.G's topic in Configuration Manager 2007
After so much frustration with the Product and having read all the articles I could find plus the ones you had listed, I've decided to remove SCCM and re-install it from scratch. Using the SCCM 2007 DVD media then downloading all the relevant patches for it in sequence. Lastly installing KB 977384 before R3 install. We shall see what happens! G -

SCCM Troubles - R3 installation not working...
Mr.G replied to Mr.G's topic in Configuration Manager 2007
Waited a fair while now and I did specify to run as soon as possible in the distribute software wizard. I've not yet sent anything to this host, I wanted to make sure that .2157 was working first. That was my primary concern. G -

SCCM Troubles - R3 installation not working...
Mr.G replied to Mr.G's topic in Configuration Manager 2007
Anyweb...thanks for the reply. 1. Created task sequence with the following parameters : PATCH="%_SMSTSMDataPath%\OSD\<PCS00009>\i386\hotfix\KB977384\SCCM2007AC-SP2-KB977384-x86.msp 2. Advertised Task Sequence 3. Checked Advertisement status in SCCM Console which reports Received 83, Started 86, Program Success 86. 4 Checked logs for valid install Hostname i.e R1-1 which shows as : "The task sequence execution engine successfully completed a task sequence." & also "The task sequence manager successfully completed execution of the task sequence." under logs. 5. Remote Desktop onto R1-1 and checked Configuration Manager Version number which shows as .2000 6. Checked SCCM Console R1-1 Properties and verified version of .2000 there also. Client Push installation properties reads: SMSSITECODE=PCS SMSCACHESIZE=8000 Software update point client installation is not enabled as when i publish the most recent version of the client it states .2000 as the version. That is an outline of what I've done today. Thanks for your time.. G -

I have now managed to get the application to distribute via advertised task sequence. Showing as installed on 100+ clients. However when I view the client version using the SCCM console its yet again still the .2000 version. Argggg G -

Thanks for the reply, very helpful. I have created the task sequence and added correct configuration but I'm struggling with the Installation properties parameters. Can Anyone help me? This is more than likely the last step in the process, hoping I can get it resolved soon. Thanks again for all the help, I don't feel so isolated G -
SCCM Troubles - R3 installation not working...
Mr.G replied to Mr.G's topic in Configuration Manager 2007
Yes I installed that onto the Server after installing R3. I'm beginning to think I've done something wrong here. The Console is fine, reporting that Pc's are there, installed, assigned etc. However when I look at each client version in control panel, configuration manager the version is displayed as .2000. I'm at my wits end now. Having tried most things with no resolution!! Thanks G -
Hello.... I'm new here (obviously), just wanted to check in and say Hi to everyone. I've been lurking as a guest for a while but have all but given up on SCCM 2007 R3 (clients not upgrading to 2157) so thought i'd register and ask. Check out my thread here if you think you can help in any way. Thanks G

Hi. I'm new to the WIndows-Noob.com Forums. Name is Gavin, I manage a small 475 host network with around 9 Servers. One of which is SCCM 2007. I installed SCCM 2007 R3 as per the instructions found on this very forum (extremely handy step by step walkthrough, so thanks for those whoever wrote them). I then setup and configured what was needed for the clients to carry on with the automated task of installing SCCM client. Now most of my clients bar 2% have installed and are perfect. The issue I have is that they remain on .2000 not .2157 (hope thats the right version lol) as they should be, meaning no power management available. I've done everything I can think of to get them up to date but its not working. I'd really appreciate any help anyone can provide me. I am a little bit of a noob when it comes to SCCM so please go easy on me. It's been a very steep learning curve and with a 1100 user ADS/Exchange system here sometimes finding the required time for SCCM is hard. I have bought a ISBN 978-0-470-17367-1 which is R2 related, but i've done most of what it says in there, it is very vague in certain areas. I can obtain any logs from any machines or from Servers, post up screen shots if need be. I'd really like to get this sorted as our PC's are being left on overnight costing us ££££!!! Many Many thanks....in advance! Mr.G
