Does the update show in SCCM? Have u checked the event logs on the client to see where it is falling down? Also how did you complete the certificate was it as per the above link? Did you package the certificate and use certutil to deploy? Almost definately sounds like a certificate issue so it seems you only have to tweak the process

Hi marracrash, I have recently set up SCUP in a work environment and used the below links for guidance: http://blogs.technet.com/b/jasonlewis/archive/2007/11/30/how-to-setup-scup-and-configmgr-2007-to-deploy-custom-updates.aspx http://myitforum.com/cs2/blogs/katzchen63/archive/2010/05/28/scup-deploying-sccm-r3-beta-client-hotfix-kb977384.aspx The 2nd link is more related to deploying microsoft hotfixes via SCUP but I still found this useful for a "step by step" guide on setting up an update. Good luck

IanDD started following Client Push Problems and VM Setup problem for SCCM

Hi Guys/Girls, I was wondering if anyone could help me as I have again run into a few problems. I am teaching myself SCCM at home using WMWare Workstation version 7.1.3 and have encountered a few problems and I am not sure how to solve them. The setup for my studying is as below: Host Machine is Windows 7 64 bit with an AMD 955 processor (3.2ghz) and 8gb of RAM. My VM environment is as below: Windows 2008 R2 Server (Domain Controller) - Fully patched, running ADDS/DNS/DHCP - I have setup 2 network adapters, 1 for the local VM LAN with the below config: Adapter 1 IP - 10.0.0.2 (Static) Subnet - 255.0.0.0 Default Gateweay - 10.0.0.1 DNS - 10.0.0.2 The second adapter is to connect to the internet via my host machine with the below config: Adapter 2 - Bridged IP - 192.168.0.10 Subnet - 255.255.255.0 Default Gateway - 192.168.0.1 DNS - Set up ISP DNS servers Windows Server 2008 R2 (SCCM/SQL Server) - Fully patched, running IIS/File Services/WSUS/BITS/Remote Differential Compression - Setup as per the brilliant guide on this forum, I have also setup this machine with 2 adapters, so that I have one for local LAN and one for internet access for WSUS, these are configured as below: Adapter 1 IP Address - 10.0.0.3 (static) Subnet - 255.0.0.0 Default Gateway - 10.0.0.1 DNS - 10.0.0.2 Adapter 2 - Bridged - Setup the same as adapter 2 above, but with IP 192.168.0.11 I have managed to get SCCM up and working but I have found that my SCCM server takes ages to boot (20 mins), and then when it finally does SCCM can not connect to the SQL server database. If I disable adapter 2 on my SCCM server then the server boots up faster and there are no problems connecting to the database. I thought that maybe SCCM was trying to use the wrong network adapter to contact SQL so I changed the metric on adapter 1 to 10, and the metric on adapter 2 to 20, to try and force SCCM to use adapter 1 but this has not helped and I get the same issues. I am not sure if this issue is an SCCM issue or a VMWare issue and was wondering if anyone could help me to get this all working. My reason for setting up my training environment as above is because I wanted to keep it as close to a real world environment as possible by having a domain controller and a seperate server running SCCM/SQL 2008. Any help would be greatly appreciated

The webdav schema is located in c:\windows\system32\inetsrv\config\schema You need to take ownership of it then remove the read only atributes, then ammend the file as below: element name="properties"> <attribute name="allowAnonymousPropfind" type="bool" defaultValue="true" /> <attribute name="allowInfinitePropfindDepth" type="bool" defaultValue="true" /> <attribute name="allowCustomProperties" type="bool" defaultValue="false" /> Hope this works for you as well

Hi , This was a similar issue to what I was having, I ended up removing the MP and reporting site roles and deinstalling IIS. Then I reinstalled IIS and then readded the mp and reporting roles. Its also worth checking the webdav_schema.xml as I found that changes you make to webdav were not being written to this file! It seems that IIS is very flaky and it took me hours to get this sorted, I ended up doing the above reinstall 3 times and then all of a sudden it started working as it should. Good luck

Many thanks for your help Guys, looks like it was an IIS issue as I uninstalled and reinstalled IIS, reconfigured webdav and pushed the client out. Not sure exactly what the problem was but the 3rd reinstall seemed to do the trick, I am not sure if it just me but IIS on server 2008 r2 seems very flaky at best. I am only working in an virtual environment designed just for my training purposes but if IIS is that flaky in a enterprise environment then its not good news. Id like to say a big thanks to everyone on this forum for there posts and guides as they have been a great help in troubleshooting the problems I have had and I have learnt a huge amount of knowledge from them Hopefully as I learn I will be able to help and contribute as well

Many thanks for the reply, I tried the above URL and got the following message on my domain controller in IE: MPCertificate> <Certificate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ertificate> </MPCertificate> I have 3 machines on my domain, a domain controller, an SCCM server/SQL server and a windows 7 client, I have managed to push out the client to the SCCM Server and the Windows 7 client but can not seem to get the client to push out to the domain controller. I will check that other link as well , many thanks for the help

Hi Guys, Still stuck on the below 2 error messages: Failed to successfully complete HTTP request Request failed: 404 Not Found I have had a search around and it seems to be an IIS issue but can not understand it as the management point seems to be working fine, so I think webdav is setup as it should. I have followed all advice on installing and configuring webdav for server 2008 r2, and even checked the webdav_schema.xml which seems correct. I really do not wont to move on in my training until i have the client pushed out to all machines but it does not matter what I do I can not seem to get the client on the domain controller. I tried uninstalling the reporting and managemnt point roles, uninstalling IIS, and then reinstalling, the logs seem to indicate everything is back up and running but I still get the above error message on the client. Any help or pointers on what to look at next would be greatly appreciated

Ahhhhh, I have got a bit further now and looks like my problem is either the FSP/MP or IIS, so I am going to try a reinstall of all 3. A quick question thou if anyone can help, if I have IIS installed and configured on my SCCM server do I also need to install it on the domain controller? Many thanks

Hi Folks, I am proper n00b here so please be gentle I am currently having problems pushing clients out in a VM test lab, I have detailed below the config: Domain Controller (DC1) - Server 2008 R2 - DHCP/DNS - Schema Extended SCCM Server (SCCMSVR) - Server 2008 R2 - SQL2008R2 - IIS/WSUS/File Services Client - (client) - Win7 32bit These were all created off of master vm images that had been sysprep'd before cloning. I have followed the guide on this forum and everything seemed to be going brilliantly. SCCM discovered all my machines in AD and then I configured the clients and the client push propertys as per the guide and then proceeded to push out the client. My problem is for some reason is that my SCCM server and my client win7 machine receive the client but my domain controller does not. I have specified for the client to be allowed on domain controllers and double checked all the settings but I can not get the client pushed out to this one machine. After reading numerous very helpfull posts here I tried the following. I checked the ccm.log and found the below: ---> Unable to connect to WMI ® on remote machine "DC1", error = 0x8004100e. SMS_CLIENT_CONFIG_MANAGER 09/03/2011 19:45:30 3428 (0x0D64) After reading post after post over the last couple of days I then tried the following. I ran wbemtest.exe on my SCCM server and set the Namespace = \\dc1\root\wmi, I then ran Enum Classes with the superclass = Eventtrace, this completed with no errors. I have also turned off windows firewalls on all machines and checked that I could connect to the admin$ share on each machine. DNS is all present and correct as i can ping via ip or name from all machines. I dont think this is an account issue as the client installs fine on the other 2 machines but just not the domain controller. I have since spent an evening rebuilding the domain controller but I am still getting exactly the same problem. I really dont like posting problems unless I have really hit a brick wall and I have read until my eyes bleed trying to find a solution. I would like to say a big thankyou to everyone on this forum as the posts here have really helped a lot Edit** Just checked the ccmsetup.log on the domain controller and have the following errors: Failed to successfully complete HTTP request Request failed: 404 Not Found Any help is appreciated
