Never installed SCCM before, but wanted to experiment with the new capability in 2012 to control non-Windows mobile devices via its link with Exchange ActiveSync.
I have a test Exchange server set up that is working great (specifically, it's the Hyper-V Exchange Server 2010 demo image that Microsoft provides).
I've managed to successfully install SCCM 2012 beta 2 on a separate Windows Server 2008 R2 test system joined to the test domain. I pointed the SCCM Exchange Connector to my Exchange server, and tried registering some devices via ActiveSync to the Exchange server, but the devices do not show in the SCCM inventory.
I admittedly did not follow all of the configuration steps listed in the guide on this site, because they seemed to be focused on software distribution, and all I really want to look at is the Exchange linkage.
I am a total noob with SCCM, so any pointers would be appreciated. I can go through the complete configuration process described in the guide if necessary, but would like to make sure it is necessary for the Exchange linkage. I'm also unfamiliar with SQL Server, so it's also possible I did something wrong in installing and configuring that on my SCCM test system.
Any pointers/suggestions appreciated.
Thanks,
David
