Tempdb continually filling after sql server gets hung on a process
xerxes2985 posted a question in SQL Server
In SCCM, any time I attempt to update a collection, it causes tempdb to fill up, and eventually causes SQL server to stop working properly. SQL Server databases reside on their own drive, and each time it gets hung on SMS_COLLECTION_AUXILIARY_EVALUATOR. I've specified a 50 GB limit for tempdb and a 30 GB limit for the log db. Any suggestions.- 5 replies

SCVMM usage and feature set
cobramaster298 posted a question in System Center Virtual Machine Manager
I'm thinking of recommending my team to adopt SCVMM for windows server administration but wanted to know from an IT audience perspective: - Are you using SCVMM today? If not, what other products do you prefer to use? - What are the top 3 features you use within SCVMM that makes system/server administration easy? - How hard was it to make SCVMM a part of your toolset? Thanks, Billy- 1 reply

Hello All, I wanted to share this article/post that I wrote recently about an error I encountered while installing Service Manager to a named instance of SQL Server. URL: http://adinermie.wordpress.com/2014/03/26/service-manager-2012-r2-installation-fails-to-identify-sql-server-instance-and-throws-access-denied-error/ Don't forget to check out my blog regularly, as I post article there first before re-posting here.

I'm planning to install a secondary site server in my SCCM 2012 SP1 hierarchy and wanted to know if I should install the SQL Express(which installs by default) or install a new instance of SQL server 2012 enterprise? My primary site server is currently running remotely on SQL Server 2012 SP1. Thanks, Paul

Hey All, I just installed SCCM 2012 in my test environment, with a remote sql 2012 server. However, as I read more documentation on 2012, experts or so call experts say I should install SQL server 2012 locally on the same primary site server. The main reason they say is for permissions simplicity. However, when I install 2012 in production should I install SQL 2012 server local or on remote server. Current Site Hierarchy Primary Site 3 Secondary Sites at remote locations Total Clients: 500-1000 at each site. Thanks, Paul
