Good morning My MP is showing the following error in MPcontrol.log. As well, in monitoring/system status/site status, the Management Point role is showing the following: Total 0 bytes. Also, the service "ccmexec" is stopped, and will not start. When attempting to start it I get the following error: Event viewer shows error 10005 DCOM got error "1053" attempting to start the service CcmExec with arguments "-Service" in order to run the server: {B82CF833-7A61-4B84-9D69-C63E7B6DE6C0} I'm currently running Server 2016, Configuration Manager 1902. I've also attached the MPcontrol.log file. Http test request failed, status code is 500, 'Internal Server Error'. Http test request failed, status code is 500, 'Internal Server Error'. SMS_MP_CONTROL_MANAGER 4/30/2019 9:51:42 AM 9428 (0x24D4) Is my Management Point hosed? Should I just reinstall the role? mpcontrol.log

*PROBLEM SOLVED, CHECK MY LAST POST* Hey, Perhaps someone could help me with this. My Management Point is freaking out. Everything has been working fine up until a few days ago. Started getting the following error: "MP Control Manager detected management point is not responding to HTTP requests. The HTTP status code and text is 500, Internal Server Error." I set up a new web service (Maik Koster's) like a week ago, which has been working. A few days go by and suddenly my clients didn't receive a policy when doing OSD. Saw MP was critical. Can't really find any information about this when it comes to SCCM 2012, only 2007. Don't think it's IIS. I can access it via IE and run, for instance, GetCollectionMembers. So that leaves the MP to have some issues with SQL? Haven't touched that since installing the server. Should add that I removed the MP role yesterday, rebooted the server, and then installed it again. That made it work until midnight. At least it was all green in Site Status and Component Status. Any tips?

We are having a very difficult time locating any posts, forum topics, or ms bulletins in regards to the attached distmgr.log file. If anybody of you knowledgeable helpful users on the forum can assist in ANY way, please feel free to offer any suggestions. We currently are unable to distribute any new data, sync dp's, etc... We have performed a site reset. We have removed MP role. We have removed and replaced the mentioned file. Kind of at a loss. Short of rebuilding the main site server, I'm not too sure as to our next step. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your time and assistance. distmgr.log mpcontrol.log

Hello, One of my Management Points in SCCM 2012 seems to have developed an issue where it will not allow clients to download Windows updates in software centre. When you click install they just stay on 'waiting to download' and then eventually fail with 'The software change returned error code 0x80240438(-2145123272).' Please can somebody help with this issue and point me in the right direction? Thanks

Hello All, I am wondering if anybody has a step-by-step for implementing the IBCM for CM? I've read a lot of different articles, but none of them seemed to have all the pieces? Basic idea is to obtain the ability to manage portable devices (laptops) while those devices are off of the domain. EX. teacher laptops that need to be managed via CM while on summer break. There is NO AD in the DMZ. I can open needed ports on the firewall for communication between Primary site server/MP and MP in DMZ. We've got CM1511 fully functional within the domain. Client checks, dns, OSD, WSUS, etc all work great while on the domain. I am looking to put a MP in the DMZ to manage these portable devices, but I am lacking the knowledge to fully implement this solution. Any pointers to a complete guide would be VERY much appreciated.

Our environment contains a CAS site and 3 Site servers. Currently each site server has 1 DP and 1 MP. Because of a firewall and various security limitations, we are setting up a new DP, MP and update point that reports to one of the existing site servers. We use SCCM for OS Deployments. We Use Site Based boot media today. I do not see the benefit of selecting dynamic Media option when creating a boot disk because I still have to enter in a DP. So in my existing setup, does it just make sense to still use Site base media but have 2 boot disks for my one sccm site that has 2 MP and DPs. All the computers that report to the 2nd MP/DP will in their own boundary I haven't investigated what I am going to do with DP groups. Currently we don't use them.

We have SCCM 2012 running on Windows Server 2008 R2 and it has been working great. Suddenly today PXE quit working and we found this error under Site Status: Status: Critical Site System Role: Management Point Total: 0 Bytes The Status Message Details alternates between these two errors: Message ID: 1104 Process ID: 2408 Thread ID: 4444 SMS Executive detected that this component stopped unexpectedly. Possible cause: The component is experiencing a severe problem that caused it to stop unexpectedly. Solution: Refer to your ConfigMgr Documentation or the Microsoft Knowledge Base for further troubleshooting information Message ID:5432 Process ID: 2408 Thread ID: 8404 MP could not write out CCM setting to WMI. Possible cause: MP didn't get installed properly. Solution: Ensure MP setup succeeded; if not, reinstall MP Also, under Component Status we found this error: Status: Critical Component: SMS_MP_CONTROL_MANAGER We are not sure if this is causing PXE not to work, or just a symptom of it not working. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi Guys, Today while troubleshooting the MP role installation failure I saw " Failed to grab execution mutex. I recently upgraded to SCCM 2012 SP1 CU2 per the guidelines on here and somehow managed to goof up my client deployment from my primary site. All my secondary sites are deploying correctly but within the ccmsetup logs i'm getting a "Client version '5.00.7804.1000' is not compatible with the site 'SRL' version '5.00.7782.1000'. Fail the installation. ccmsetup 8/29/2013 3:42:16 PM 4276 (0x10B4)". I can only assume it's because earlier in the log I see "Retrieved 2 MP records from AD for site 'SRL'" with it defaulting to the oldest version of 5.00.7782.1000 for SiteCode: SRL. It does see the updated version at 5.00.7804.1000 on the "second MP" it finds in AD but they are both the same server, same name. The only difference between the two MP names is the domain name is capitalized in the new one, the old one is not. Does this make sense? All component status's are green and all secondary sites seem to be working. The IP address boundaries have been added to the boundary group managed by this server. I can't seem to make it clear out the old version from AD after removing the management point role and distribution role and reconfiguring everything back as it should be. Any ideas? All help will be greatly appreciated!

Preface: Running SCCM 2012 on physical hardware, with MS Windows Server 2012 and SQL Server 2012. I know it isn't officially supported, but thus far most everything is working splendidly! So, I know I post more questions than answers here, but I'm still getting my feet under me with SCCM 2012. I need some brilliant minds to help me unravel an issue I've been having for some time now. My site statuses are all great except for my Management Point status. I keep getting a recurring critical error (Message ID 5436). I discovered that if I remove the MP role and re-add it, the MP status resets and works fine...for a while. But if I come in the next morning the error has reappeared overnight. I've spent a lot of time trying to resolve the issue on my own but can't seem to track down the cause. The logs are mildly unhelpful, given I don't know what I'm looking for. I have a hunch it could be related to IIS (which I know very little about) and the web has yet to be helpful in regards to setting up IIS to play nice with SCCM. I resolved an issue related to WebDav that seemed to clear up a smaller MP issue, but this one still persists. Is there any help someone can provide me outside of what is listed in the error message? I have attached a screenshot of my mpcontrol.log in an effort to be helpful. If there is any other info I can provide I would gladly give it to try and work through this problem. Thanks in advance for the help!

Hello, We have a site with two MP's, one used for a DMZ (behind fire wall) and one for the production environment. When installing the SCCM client for the production computers they connect to the correct MP but then quickly change to the wrong MP behind the firewall. MS explained that all MP's for a site are listed and the SCCM client choose one of them and then tries to connect. Then it tries another. Our problem is that it takes hours before the client changes MP again and it doesn't stay connected to the correct more than a couple of minutes. This causes the client not to register ok with the site and it doesnt receive the policy ok. Boundaries are ok and boundarie groups points to the correct MP. What could cause this issue and how could we solve it? Would a secondary site setup for our DMZ MP behind the fire wall solve this or would our production clients still try to connect to the DMZ MP? Any help would be appreciated! /Sam A.

If you remove and re-add the Management Point Role does that break anything in your environmment? We have 1 MP that does not work. It starts and stops and then will not restart. If I remove and re-add the role is it as simpple as that? or do I need to remove every package from that DP first? Our MP has this in error in the logs. CMPControlManager::UnregisterForIPAddressChangeNotification() returned 0x0 2/22/2012 9:32:42 PM 34676 (0x8774) MPStop(): UnregisterForIPAddressChangeNotifications() returned 0x0 2/22/2012 9:32:42 PM 34676 (0x8774) The registry change notification registry key handle has been closed. 2/22/2012 9:32:42 PM 27324 (0x6ABC) Deleted 'SMS Server Availability' performance instance => SMS Management Point. 2/22/2012 9:32:42 PM 27324 (0x6ABC) Configuration and Availability Monitor thread stopped. 2/22/2012 9:32:42 PM 27324 (0x6ABC) MPStop(): Returning with 0x0. 2/22/2012 9:32:42 PM 34676 (0x8774) SMS_MP_CONTROL_MANAGER successfully STOPPED. 2/22/2012 9:32:42 PM 34676 (0x8774) ******************************************************************************** 2/22/2012 9:32:42 PM 34676 (0x8774) So something is going on. We found this out because we can't do any package deployments on this site. In fact clients don't even get the adverts. so once we began to dig we ended up at this error. Any help/hints would be great.

I'm having a real issue with setting up my secondary site proxy management points. I've searched the topics and it seems that there seems to be many people with my error but each suggestion does not seem to solve my problem. I thought I had it with the webdav xml file. I made the changes and the errors went away but came back the next day. Error I'm getting in console: SMS Site Component Manager failed to install this component, because the designated Web Site of Internet Information Services is not running or started.
