I am using the WOL Proxy in our environment. When the machines are completely powered off the WOL proxy service wakes them with no problem and they run updates and TS's with no problem. However, if they are in sleep mode the WOL proxy service is not able to wake them. I have updated the BIOS on my PC's and enabled WOL and disabled the advanced sleep states like S4. I cannot figure out why the machines will wake when completely powered off but wont wake from Sleep. We are running Windows 7 enterprise 32x. Thanks

I have enabled Wake Proxy in my environment, I am trying to figure out a way to manually trigger a wake up signal without using a deployment. I downloaded the now micro right click tools and there is an option to WOL, however when I use this tool it only wakes PC's that are on my local subnet. Is there a way to manually trigger a system to wake up using the WOL proxy function?

Can someone help help me get pointed in the right direction. I have SCCM 2012 R2 and would like to set up wake on lan. I am having problems finding information about this. I keep finding the 2007 information. Some of my machines have AMT and that is the other part of it. I have not been able to get that fully set up. I get the AMT status to say Detected and Not Supported. ( I would like to know why it is not supported.) I have versions of 8.1.31 that are detected and have version 8.1.20 and 8.1.40 that are not supported. My network setup has multiple subnets. I am trying to get a DP in each of the wired subnets. I am not sure if there is an role that needs to be added to the DP machines or if it just gets installed on the primary. I would like to wake the machines up and either re-image them or have windows updates applied and then shutdown.

Hi, does anyone know a way of using WOL to wake clients for a scheduled scan? The only way I can think of getting it to run would be to create a dummy deployment task with WOL enabled for a short period before I want the scan to start - this seems a clunky way of having to do it though. I'm using SCCM 2012 R2. cheers, Tom

Here's one for you. I have some Windows XP PC's that dual boot between two partitions. One is commonly used and the other not. The countdown to select the more commonly used partition ( default ) sits at 999seconds. Like using the right click tools on a collection in sccm 2012, does anybody know of a way I could WOL then wait 20 seconds and send a signal 'return' key to select the default partition and start booting. Any help would be greatly appreciated. W

Hey guys, I will wake up the clients in the network before windows 7 will deploy. But it doesn't work. Wake on lan is activated in properties of the site and in the task sequence I clicked on "send wake-up packets". What steps do I need to wake up and deploy the clients by sccm? The client woke up when I send the WOL command with another programm! Thanks for your help. Wolfgang

Hi, I've just got WOL working in our environment to the point where using sccm I can distribute a package, wake the machine up, install the package and shut the machine down again. However, if i create an advertisement and associate it with a collection with no machines in currently and then add machines to that collection it doesn't work. But if I create an advertisement with WOL ready and associate it with a collection with machines in it, it works great. Just wondering if i'm missing anything? Thanks
