Move SCCM 2012 SP1 to new server build

Recommended Posts

We currently have a standalone primary SCCM 2012 SP CU3 site that has become problematic and flaky for a while and needs to be rebuilt. I intend to build a new server with SCCM 2012 R2 and migrate all the applications, task sequences etc.

What's the simplest / most painless way of achieving this? Should I build the new server with a new site code, copy across apps etc and then incrementally move subnets/physical sites and DPs, or;

Expand the existing primary site and install a CAS, then add the new SCCM server as an additional primary site. After the migration, remove the old primary site and then the CAS.

Or is there simpler alternative?

Thanks
