Cartdawg Posted March 27, 2014 Report post Posted March 27, 2014 Hi all: I have SCCM 2012 SP1 installed and working fine for everything. My issue is that I'm beginning to build Server 2012 R2 servers in my environment...and Endpoint will not install. I push the client, the client installs fine, but I get the "Failed - System Center 2012 cannot be installed on your OS. Windows Program Compatibility Mode is not supported by this program....blah blah" in the console. Check the R2 server, client is definitely there, and is fully installed with cert and MP. From what I've seen, and I'm just overwhelmed with information, I'm stuck at really knowing what path to take to get Endpoint to install from the console. I've seen that definitely R2 would fix this and be compatible...but I'm not sure I want to take that upgrade right now. I also saw that CU3 'may' allow it...but I'm also seeing more and more people saying no that doesn't work either. SO- Does anyone know what I can do here? Really, the only objective I need, is to be able to put the client and EP to install on a Server 2012 R2 server. I don't need anything else....but I don't want to install manually. We're going to be sticking with setting up 2012 R2 anyway...just trying to go about it the right way. Thanks in advance! Jorgen Nilsson Posted March 28, 2014 Report post Posted March 28, 2014 Hi,Configuraiton Manager 2012 sp1 CU3 is required for support of server 2012 so you need to start there, CU4 is realeased as well and the updates are cumulative so installing just CU4 will do it. Note that there are updates released for Endpoint Protection as well. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2907566/en-us this update, updates the SCEPInstall.exe on the Site server to a newer version as well.. Cartdawg Posted March 31, 2014 Report post Posted March 31, 2014 Thank you very much Jorgen! On Server 2012, the client actually installed and worked...it was just Endpoint that didn't/wouldn't install. So, I installed CU3 this morning, and I'm not able to install the client and Endpoint on my Server 2012 R2 servers. So CU3 fixed it! Just in case anyone else had this same issue, hopefully this is helpful and answers the question about applying CU3 as a fix for this. It does work! Thanks for the feedback!
