SatyaKR Posted March 31, 2014 Report post Posted March 31, 2014 Hi, How can I configure WSUS and SUP on the same Windows 2012 R2 server with SCCM 2012 R2. I want to use WSUS / SUP for Endpoint protection definition updates and also WSUS for clients patching (Clients windows update pointing to WSUS server) I am not getting clear picture on WSUS and SUP sync / upstream settings configuration. GarthMJ Posted March 31, 2014 Report post Posted March 31, 2014 The WSUS server can only be for CM12 or itself, it can't be both.

mac3847 Posted April 5, 2014 Report post Posted April 5, 2014 If you have brought the WSUS server in to SCCM as a site system and added the Software update point, should you see any servers or workstations appearing in "unassigned computers" when you launch the WSUS console from SCCM? Also my DC had a pop up to say updates available and they also show in the Software Center and they installed. However if i look at the windowsupdate.log it shows the update happening. My understanding was nothing would show int he windowsupdate.log as this is for normal WSUS and not patching through SCCM
Peter van der Woude Posted April 6, 2014 Report post Posted April 6, 2014 SCCM uses a big part of the existing WSUS functionality. Its uses the WUA client to scan for compliance and uses SCCM only for "approving" of updates and content.
