What is the upgrade path for SCCM 2012 RTM -> R2 CU1

Can someone help with the steps to get my RTM environment upgraded to the newest / latest version of SCCM2012? Do I need multiple upgrades or is there a direct path?

I would say that you need to go first to SP1, and then to R2 and finally CU1 which is a hotfix for R2,

We are in the same boat trying to go from SCCM 2012 all the way to R2 CU1. I have collected all of the checklists for SP1, R2, etc... What I was hoping was to merge the checklists into a single checklist and try to avoid duplicating some steps.

 

For example, After upgrading to SP1, one of the last steps is to upgrade the clients. If we are going to upgrade to R2 immediately after SP1, can we wait to upgrade the clients after R2 is installed? Obviously these upgrades are going to take some time and patience. But any steps that can wait to be done until all of the upgrades have completed would help. (Should we back up before and after SP1 the way the separate checklists read?)

 

Has anyone completed both upgrades back to back, and has anyone put together a checklist that skips steps that do not have to be duplicated? Or is this an install SP1, fully test, install R2, fully test upgrade?
