Is it possible to do UEFI and PXE (Legacy boot) deployment on the same vlan?

 

Using SCCM 2012 R2 + Windows 2012 R2 Server.

Yep.

 

It should take nothing more than to make sure you've got both UEFI and Standard partitioning setup in your task sequence to support either devices.

Okay, just realized that I had to use an extra IP-Helper for the WDS/SCCM server - (and not the dhcp options)

 

But downloading the WinPE file is very slow - do anyone know why? (approx 10 times slower than legacy boot)

Update your boot images on the DP, and re-run - it should sort it.

Apexes> I already have the hotfix applied - The issues occurs not when downloading the OS, but when downloading the WinPE image.

Sorry, read that wrong.

 

Increase your TFTP speed on your DP. Change the below value to either 4096, 8192, 16384 etc.

 

On my environment, it couldn't go above 8192, it broke the transfer. so I've kept it at that, which takes around 20-30 seconds for a 260mb WinPE image.

 

Once changed. Restart WDS & retry
