FreyrGauti Posted April 7, 2014 Report post Posted April 7, 2014 Hi, Due to company policy I have to upgrade my SCCM server OS from 2008R2 Sp1 to 2012R2 and my SQL Server version from 2008R2 SP2 to 2012. I'm wondering if there is a "best practice" approach for this or is my best option to set up a new SCCM server on a 2012R2 OS and 2012 SQL server and migrate my configuration over to it? Current configuration is a single primary server running 2008R2 Sp1 OS, and a 2008R2 SP2 SQL Server installed locally on the same machine, SCCM is 2012 Sp1 Cu3. Regards, Freyr
GarthMJ Posted April 7, 2014 Report post Posted April 7, 2014 It might be possible to do this, read these blog AND particularly the TechNet docs listed within the blog post. http://be.enhansoft.com/post/2014/01/14/Upgrading-SCCM-2012-R2s-Site-Server-Operating-System.aspx http://be.enhansoft.com/post/2013/12/05/Upgrading-Configuration-Manager-2012-Database-From-SQL-2008-to-SQL-2012.aspx If not then you will have to rebuild you site from the ground up.
