Claus Christensen Posted April 14, 2014 Report post Posted April 14, 2014 SCCM 2012 Sp1 Upgrade to SCCM 2012 R2 roadmap Hi Guys. I’m currently running SCCM 2012 Sp1 (Build number 7804) on a Windows 2008 R2 server, as a Primary site The SQL server is installed locally on the SCCM server and running version 2008R2 (10.50.2861) My goal is to swap this installation on to a brand new Windows 2012R2 server running SCCM2012R2 with SQL 2012R2 CU6. How can I best accomplish this? I haven’t seen any whitepapers or guidelines describing this specific scenario. Perhaps upgrading the existing server to latest SCCM version, for upgrading the database, and then a backup of the database. Install SCCM 2012R2 on the new server, with same hard drives, and same hostname, and then do a site recover? After that copy all the packages to the new server. My hopes are that I can get all my driver packages and task sequences etc. the easiest way migrated to the new server. Anyone here that can help with a guideline? Thanks in advance.
