johnnycage Posted May 19, 2014 Report post Posted May 19, 2014 Hello, I am running SCCM 2012R2 and while trying to deploy OS through a task sequence, I noticed that my physical machines do not boot from the PXE. However this is possible when I create a new VM and start it, then use F12 to boot from the network. It detects my PXE server and am able to deploy my Windows Image. This is not working only on my physical machines ! Any ideas of what might be the problem ? Thanks
Mikey C Posted May 19, 2014 Report post Posted May 19, 2014 Is the server running PXE and the DHCP server on the same subnet? Is the subnet the VM uses the same?
guyver78 Posted May 20, 2014 Report post Posted May 20, 2014 Also, different network card drivers perhaps? I had problems like that in the past and it turned out to be a simple network card driver that needed adding to the PXE boot image. Edenost Posted May 20, 2014 Report post Posted May 20, 2014 Check the BIOS settings and maybe the version? We had a few Intel machines which had Version 2.03 (of the pxe stuff, can't remember the name lol), and when we updated (2.16), it pxe booted with no problems.
