doctora Posted May 22, 2014 Report post Posted May 22, 2014 I have my device collections checking once a day to update the devices from active directory. Over the last couple weeks it seems to have stopped checking or failing somehow. Is there a log file somewhere that I can check to see if it is even attempting? Thank you in advance. jr19 Posted May 22, 2014 Report post Posted May 22, 2014 Check colleval.log in the %PROGRAMFILES%\Microsoft Configuration Manager\Logs\ directory
doctora Posted May 22, 2014 Report post Posted May 22, 2014 Thank you for your post I do not have that log file. I do have two log files under the AdminUILog folder. SmsAdminUI.log and CreateTsMedia.log It is very strange I have 5 OU locations that I am monitoring and 4 are working fine and one is not. I have made no changes to Active directory structure or to SCCM.
doctora Posted May 23, 2014 Report post Posted May 23, 2014 I have done some more research on my problem and it is going to Active directory fine but it is not recognizing any new computers on Active directory. I know how to add them manually but I thought that it collected anything in the OUs specified even if they were not in SCCM yet. When I add them Manually In the Agent Name I get "Manual Machine Entry", The ones that are already in have agent name SMS_AD_SYSTEM_DISCOVERY_AGENT,MP_ClientRegistration,Heartbeat Discovery. I guess I am not sure how to discover new systems.
wilbywilson Posted May 27, 2014 Report post Posted May 27, 2014 Hey there, Are you 100% sure that the Active Directory System Directory is looking in the correct path/container? Did anything change recently with your AD structure? It's odd that it stopped working all of a sudden...
